| Islam - A Part of America's Story? |

When newly elected U.S. President Barack Obama made his Moslem appeasing speech in Cairo last year, he claimed that "Islam has always been a part of America's story." I thought it would be reasonable to check out America's story and look for that "part" that Islam has "always" played in our country's history. "Always" would have to start back when the Pilgrims came by ship to these shores. All the historical reports tell us that the Pilgrrims were Christians seeking a place for freedom of worship. I don't recall that any of them were worshipping Allah. And were there Moslems among the people who welcomed the Pilgrims and helped them celebrate the first Thanksgiving Day? I think they were alll native Americans. |

Most homeschooled students are avid readers. However, finding good clean books to satisfy their voracious appetites can be a real challenge in today’s world. In this article I’m going to list some books that my sister and I enjoyed as young people. Most of you are familiar with traditional classics, such as the Chronicles of Narnia or the Nancy Drew series. I’d like to give you a list of some lesser-known books that your children might enjoy. Many of these are out of print (I will designate them OOP), but can be purchased used at www.amazon.com or other used books sites. |

| Why People Are Starting To “Wander Off” From President Obama |

You know you are in trouble if one year ago, you were the darling of the mainstream media and now, one year later a Washington Post writer uses the phrase “began to wander off” to describe a crowd at one of your speeches. It happened on Friday during a speech President Obama gave in Charlotte, North Carolina. During a question and answer period, a woman name Doris asked the president whether it was a “wise decision to add more taxes to us with the health care” package. She then punctuated her question with the blunt statement, “We are over-taxed as it is.” You could almost feel the crowd lean forward in anticipation of the spirited and pithy defense the president was about to offer for his agenda. |

Two Years Work by Reps. Nikki Haley and Nathan Ballentine Produce Unanimous House Vote“Today is a great day for the voters and taxpayers of South Carolina,” said a very happy state representative Nikki Haley when she announced the unanimous passage by the South Carolina House of H.3047, The Spending Accountability Act. “Almost two years ago I introduced this bill because our legislators were voting anonymously more than 90 percent of the time and the citizens of our state could not see the spending habits of their elected officials. The House has now voted – unanimously – to make it permanent law that every single vote will be on the record, and I couldn’t be more proud to have helped bring this historic change about.” |

Dr. Fisher and the School Board agreed for a second year that a salary increase, historically awarded each year, would not be appropriate given the current economic conditions. The socially conservative Cash mentioned three reasons why he is running for office. He said that the country needs to return to God, government needs to be returned to the people, and socialism must be stopped. Cash gave another reason for running for the Congressional seat currently held by GOP gubernatorial candidate Gresham Barrett. He said that he is concerned about the nation’s future and what it holds for his eight children and the many grandchildren he anticipates being born in the future. |

The filing period for Republican and Democrat primary candidates closed Tuesday at noon. “Third” party candidates are being chosen by convention vote. Everyone who is running for Congress, Governor, State Legislature, statewide constitutional offices, countywide offices and county council filed and paid their filing fees. Now that we know who is running, it is time to begin studying candidates and not waiting until the last minute and depending on some newspaper or special interest group endorsement to decide for whom you will cast your ballot. This is probably the most important election in our lifetime or the history of the republic. Every vote counts and it is extremely important that we know as much as possible about the candidate for whom we cast our ballot. |

| Appointed Governors/Martial Law |

The U.S. of A divided up into ten regions, having an appointed governor, holding dictorial powers, with military enforcement, under martial law. This wouldn’t be the first time in American history that such has taken place. That’s a fact. Instead of ten regions there were five, having every element as read in the first line above. The differences between the ten regions to come and the five of America’s past will be their years implicated and their technologies, with both having been against the will of the people of the times. |

In a letter to the editor one year ago, right after President Obama’s first speech as our new president, I voiced some of my fears and some of my hopes about how he would lead the nation. As I listened to his State of the Union speech a couple of months ago I compared his highflown promises of a year ago with what he has accomplished in a year, and I say this to him. “Mr. President, I see a year of unparallel citizen unrest, of unemployment, accelerated racism, indecisiveness, confusion and anger. You are trying to achieve the change we don’t want, but where is the hope? |

| Osama Bin Laden is a little behind on his global warming rant against the U.S.A., isn’t he? I guess he’s been in his cave too long and hasn’t heard that the whole global warming thing was a hoax. That the so-called scientists in England and the U.S.A. made up all the numbers they were using in their computer models. They were all rigged to read in their favor. Osama Bin Laden, it’s a hoax, the whole thing is a made up hoax. They made it it all up. Al Gore was worth 3 million before he started this hoax now he’s worth 93 million. Follow the money, folks. He’s invested in this hoax and he’s ripping everybody off. Barney Madoff just thought he had a good scam going. | |

Spring is here! It's the season we all have been waiting for through the long, cool winter. First, we have the crowning of the "March Madness" college basketball champion this weekend. Then we also have the opening of the 2010 major league baseball season. But the best and far more important event of this weekend is the Easter holidays, the three-day commemoration of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. |

In today's local newspaper there was an article extolling the benefits the health care bill will have for children. The reasoning behind the article was rather convoluted, actually talking about how the law's provision to make insurers accept children with pre-existing conditions would allow parents to move from job to job without fear of losing their child's health care insurance. This would provide the child a happier home life because their parents would be better satisfied and perhaps have a better income. |

Obama’s Moral Equivalent to the 1933 Reichstag FireWhat Obama, Schumer, Reid, and Pelosi and their gang are doing to jam legislation through Congress by trampling the Constitution and parliamentary procedure and ignoring the voice of the people, is the moral equivalent of the Enabling Act that followed the February 27, 1933 Reichstag fire. How the fire started is controversial. Berlin Police found a Dutch Communist agitator, Marinus van der Lubbe, in the building, but it was evident that he had help in starting such a large fire. Were the Communists starting a revolution or did the Nazis set up and manipulate van der Lubbe into starting it and then finish the job themselves? Nazi detectives completed the investigation. Herman Goering bragged to a gathering of high-ranking Nazi’s in 1942 that he was responsible for the fire. |

Meadows, a former principal of Travelers Rest High School, who is currently owner of a Greenville insurance agency, said he will continue to give the district “an effective, experienced and conservative voice on Greenville County Council. “As a long-time resident of Greenville County I care deeply about our community,” Meadows said. “District 19 is facing new challenges, presented by unprecedented growth. Along with the existing problems of a weak economy, development, congestion, and an increasing property tax burden, County Council continually faces new challenges that require common sense solutions. I want to continue to help find these new common sense solutions for our county just as I have done the past three year as a council member. This approach is the same as I have used in my education and business careers for over four decades.” |

Yes, it is true. I know it is hard to believe, especially since just a few short weeks ago I wrapped up a series of travel articles telling you about my adventures on a trip to Missouri and Tennessee. To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, “There I go again.” Yes, I am “on the road again,” to quote still another well-known individual. And yes, my gas tank is full and my coffee mug is brimming, and I am raring to hit the road. So let’s go, shall we? It was back in late September that I started out on my yearly week’s vacation. My destination was Maryland to visit with family, but, as many of you already know, I don’t always take the shortest route to my eventual destination. This time around I decided to amble up the Blue Ridge Parkway and take it as far north as I could before nightfall. |

Obamacare is now the law of the land unless it can be repealed or declared unconstitutional. Our beloved republic has been systematically dismantled by subversives who now control the government. It is an unbelievable tragedy. The people who voted for Barack Hussein Obama in November 2008 launched a Marxist revolution that will change our constitutional republic forever, beginning Sunday night, March 21, 2010. Some Americans with good intentions who thought it could not happen here and failed to become involved and chose to remain ignorant of political matters and facts regarding government operations allowed it to happen and share the blame and shame. |
