Sixty Days of Intense Danger PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bob Dill, Publisher
Wednesday, 23 November 2016 00:00

The United States is facing sixty days of intense danger as Barack Obama completes his second term after rejection of his policies and of his favored replacement Hillary Clinton. As he traveled around the world making speeches, it was clear that he has not yet come to grips with the reality of this loss.

Those thousands of Christian individuals who prayed for a Trump victory need to continue praying for a peaceful turnover of power. Virtually all of our enemies will test Obama during the transition period, believing that their chances of success will be less successful when Trump takes office.

Some of the senior people in the Obama Administration are evil and would be happy too see harm come to the President-elect. It is my view that they don’t give a darn about the people or the country, they just want to press their agenda.
President Barack Obama has two more months in the White House. The win by Donald Trump was a dramatic rejection of everything Obama did in 8 years. He has promised to dismantle Obamacare, seal the southern border and reverse most of the Executive Orders Obama issued.

Not My President PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Thompson
Wednesday, 23 November 2016 00:00

My Dad used to say it, “Sometimes you have to laugh to keep from crying.” And I admit, among the things that progressives are doing lately that make me laugh are those signs that say, “Not my President.”

There are so many real and imagined grievances between and among us that one of the takeaways from the elections of 2016 is the indisputable fact that Obama succeeded. Oh, he lost an election alright; indeed, he lost in epic fashion. But his larger quest was to “fundamentally transform” this country and, by golly, he did so. As readers of this column know, my spin on his legacy will be anything but generous. Then again, even we amateur historians take a stab at “fair and balanced” now and again.

We used to be able to carry the weight, to shoulder without complaint the burdens of being a citizen in this land, the greatest country in history. No more; the MSM now carps about most everything and those masses who once “yearned to be free,” are now merely “useful idiots.” Obama succeeded in getting re-elected in 2012 and some would say in a larger sense as well, because he utilized a divide and conquer strategy. Military folks know one never splits the troops up, and yet there are examples…with names such as Chancellorsville.

The Delegation Will Appoint Six Members of the Greenville Hospital System Board of Trustees During this Period of Intense Controversy

The Greenville County Legislative Delegation will hold a very important meeting at Greenville County Square Monday, November 21 beginning at 5:30 pm. The meeting will be open to the public.

The Delegation will elect a chairman, vice chairman and secretary for the next year.

The delegation will also make a number of key appointments to committees and commissions. One of the more controversial will be the naming of candidates to fill six vacancies on the Greenville Hospital System Board of Trustees during this period of intense controversy. The current board has attempted to change the relationship between the hospital system and the citizens of Greenville County who own the system. Some critics of the change describe the change as less than fair to the citizens.

The Tide of a Great Battle Has Turned PDF Print E-mail

But Beware the Subtlety of Enemy Counterattack

By the Grace of God, Donald Trump should be inaugurated as President of the United States on January 20, 2017. There were many constituencies that went into the makeup of Trump’s electoral victory.  Among the most prominent was the predominantly white blue-collar and lower middle class working families that had been largely lost to establishment Republican candidates, since Reagan brought them out in massive numbers in 1980 and 1984. Thereafter the Republican Party began to drift back to its big-business-crony capitalism Whig roots. It should be clear that the future of the Republican Party rests with both the rewards of free enterprise and the hard work and patriotism of American workers.  The misguided globalism and terrible neglect and outright contempt for sensible immigration policies by the Bush and Obama administrations had moved the demographics of the country to near the point of permanent social, economic, cultural, and political insanity.

The Question: How Did He Do It? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bob Dill, Publisher
Wednesday, 16 November 2016 00:00

Last Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning the states began to fall to Donald Trump. The experts on television couldn’t believe what they were seeing. It couldn’t be happening. No one believed Donald Trump could become president of the United States. They had denigrated him with all kinds of unflattering labels. He had been accused of hating women, but respectable Christian leaders insisted he was the man for the job. Privately, they knew that God could use anyone who is available and willing. He is in the business of changing lives and answering prayers.

Christians close to God and being guided by His Holy Spirit knew that this election was a “God thing.” The outcome was not dependent on politicians once the true “church” became engaged.

The ladies and guests of the  Greenville County Republican Women’s Club greeted Fourth District Congressman Trey Gowdy  with several rousing standing ovations Monday at the Poinsett Club. Gowdy is a contender for the office of Attorney General of the United States should  Donald Trump become President. He has supported Trump since he became the Party nominee, and along with Third District Congressman Jeff Duncan is one of the most consistent conservatives in the House. He is a natural to be the chairman of the special committee holding hearings on the Benghazi  scandal.

Draining the Swamp PDF Print E-mail

This commentary is being written Sunday night, however it will not be dated until Wednesday, a day after the election. Since we can’t talk about results, we can only speculate on the aftermath of various outcomes.

Donald Trump has promised that if elected, he will “drain the swamp” in Washington, D. C. and his administration will rid the federal government of the “corrupt political class” The corrupt political class includes both Democrats, Republicans and others who feed at the government taxpayer trough. They will do whatever is necessary, legal or otherwise, to maintain their lucrative positions of power and influence.

The Aftermath PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Thompson
Wednesday, 09 November 2016 00:00

The election of 2016 is finally over. As I write this prior to Election Day, I have no knowledge of who will be the next POTUS. Regardless who won, however, can we all agree to make some changes so we never again find ourselves with such a lousy choice in candidates?

Political parties have become the antithesis of democracy. The Democrats were uncovered by WikiLeaks, emails clearly showed that Bernie Sanders did not have a prayer of winning the nomination. That Hillary Clinton engaged in corruption should surprise nobody. That the Democrat National Committee (DNC) did so will only be an issue if you are not a progressive ideologue, the sort that has taken control of the DNC. And because Hillary successfully colluded with the DNC to rig the primary system in her favor, it reinforced her belief that she was entitled to be POTUS. She tried to wrestle the nomination from Obama in 2008 also, but there were too many Democrats then who refused to go along.

Surprise: Trump May Become President PDF Print E-mail
Written by Bob Dill, Publisher
Wednesday, 02 November 2016 00:00

The Clinton political machine could take the White House despite all the criminal investigations surrounding the candidate. For three decades Bill and Hillary Clinton have been all about avoiding paying for their crimes, proven and unproven.
Recently the tides began to turn and the winds to shift. It was announced by the White House that the cost of Obama-Care would increase as much as 100 percent next year. Some people had already been hit hard by Obama-Care including Small Businesses.

One national company in South Carolina has already increased premiums on their Long Term Care Policies by 40 percent. The policies stated and purchasers were promised that premiums would never increase and benefits would never be cut. Prior to the first rate increase, a letter informed policy holders that they were required to re-write all policies, not increase rates on the old policies. As a policy holder who had been paying premiums for several years, you had options. You could pay the increased premium and have the same benefits, you could drop the policy and forfeit all the premiums you had paid, or you could keep your premiums low and reduce your benefits .
