Trump don’t think He is Morally Obligated to Defend Obama Every Time Someone Says Something Bad About Him

On Thursday, the day after the candidate forum at the Reagan Library in California, Donald Trump was taking questions from the audience at an event in Rochester, New Hampshire. A man in the audience addressed Trump and said, “We have a problem in this country. Its called Muslims.” He went on to say that we know our current president is one and they have training camps around the country and he asked what Trump would do about the problem.

Trump did not agree or disagree with the statement of the questioner. “A lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there,” Trump responded. He promised to look into the alleged problems.

Everyone from Lindsey Graham to Hillary Clinton cut loose on Trump for not challenging the questioner and Defending Obama by telling the man he was wrong and that Obama was a Christian and not a Muslim.

Senator Graham slammed Trump for his lack of action against the questioner. Graham said Trump “missed a defining moment” by not defending Obama and correcting the questioner. Graham told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell what he thought Trump should have done.

“You need to look the guy in the eye and say, ‘Listen, I don’t agree with you, I don’t appreciate what you said. You just go right at him and say ‘you know, I don’t buy this idea about President Obama being a Muslim.’”

Graham’s friend Sen. John McCain would not tolerate anyone in his campaign or elsewhere criticizing his opponent Obama. In fact McCain snatched the microphone from a woman’s hand at one of his campaign events because she spoke negative of Obama. Of course, McCain lost the election.

Former Congressman Tom DeLay commented that “Obama is a Muslim Sympathizer.”

A CNN/ORC poll quoted by NEWSMAX found that 29 percent of Americans believe Obama is a Muslim, 43 percent of Republicans believe he is a Muslim and 54 percent of Trump supporters believe Obama is a Muslim.

Trump pulled out of the Greenville GOP forum Friday. On Saturday morning he had something to say about the attacks on him for not defending Obama. He issued five statements.

1. “Am I morally obligated to defend the president every time somebody says something bad or controversial about him? I don’t think so.”

2. “This is the first time in my life that I have caused controversy by NOT saying something.”

3. “If someone made a nasty or controversial statement about me to the president, do you really think he would come to my rescue? No chance!”

4. “If I would have challenged the man, the media would have accused me of interfering with that man’s right of free speech. A no win situation!”

5. “Christians need support in our country (and around the world), their religious liberty is at stake! Obama has been horrible. I will be great.”
