Did We Provoke Putin's War in Ukraine?
- By Pat Buchanan
When Russia's Vladimir Putin demanded that the U.S. rule out Ukraine as a future member of the NATO alliance, the U.S. archly replied: NATO has an open-door policy. Any nation, including Ukraine, may apply for membership and be admitted. We're not changing that.
In the Bucharest declaration of 2008, NATO had put Ukraine and Georgia, ever farther east in the Caucasus, on a path to membership in NATO and coverage under Article 5 of the treaty, which declares that an attack on any one member is an attack on all.
Unable to get a satisfactory answer to his demand, Putin invaded and settled the issue. Neither Ukraine nor Georgia will become members of NATO. To prevent that, Russia will go to war, as Russia did last night.

Thank You, Tom Tancredo
- By Michelle Malkin
Tom Tancredo is fighting cancer. If you are a believer in God and country, please join me in prayer for a dear friend, mentor and patriot. While I cannot offer any comfort from his physical pain and suffering, I will do what I can with my words to lift up his indomitable spirit.
Three modern leaders stand out as the pillars of the America First movement: Pat Buchanan, Tom Tancredo and Donald Trump. Long before Trump triumphantly won the White House in 2016 by promising to protect our borders and enforce our immigration laws, Buchanan and Tancredo made these signature issues in their presidential runs (Buchanan in 1992 and 1996; Tancredo in 2008). Tancredo was the bridge between Buchanan and Trump, all of whom battled inside and outside the Republican Party on behalf of our national sovereignty.
Blacks Saying Bye-Bye to Biden
- By Star Parker
A new report from Pew Research shows that the sharpest drop in approval for President Joe Biden is among the Democratic Party's most loyal and consistent supporters -- Black protestants.
In March 2021, shortly after he took office, Biden's support among Black protestants stood at 92%. By January 2022, this was down to 65%, a drop of 27 points.
Over the same period, overall national approval for the president, per Gallup, was down from 54% to 40% -- 14 points. About half the drop among Black protestants.
Other polls among all Black voters tell the same story.
Abortion Clinic Under Fire for Possible Malpractice Improperly Disposes of Medical Waste and Private Patient Information
- By Life Legal Defense Foundation
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Life Legal and a coalition of national pro-life organizations including CEC for Life and Operation Rescue received evidence that West Alabama Women's Center (WAWC) in Tuscaloosa, Alabama illegally disposed of medical waste and patient records. We have informed state officials and demand that they conduct a thorough investigation.
Fr. Terry Gensemer found several large trash bags left anonymously on his driveway at his home in Birmingham. The black trash bags were full of bloody surgical pads, tubes of fluids, and a tube containing a small piece of human tissue. The bags also contained sheets of paper with the header "West Alabama Women's Center" with patient names and private medical information, including ultrasound photos.
Let the Games Chagrin
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
The closing ceremonies of the 2022 Beijing Olympics couldn't come soon enough for NBC, who just broadcasted the biggest Games flop of the modern age. With ratings in the basement and its credibility in tatters, no one is quite sure what the network got for its $7.75 billion dollar investment -- except very expensive heartburn. When the curtain finally came down on the disaster that was the Winter Games, there were winners, to be sure. But there were, for the first time, many more losers -- and the sporting world that allowed China to host was the biggest.
In many ways, Eileen Gu -- the American ski star who competed for China -- summed up the whole Olympics. The rising Stanford freshman, who shrugged off the regime's humanitarian atrocities, was the perfect face for a Beijing Games that never should have happened. Pressed about her decision to abandon the U.S. team and compete for genocidal communists, Gu said indifferently that she is "not trying to solve political problems right now."
The Shock of Woke Medical Schools
- By Eagle Forum
Our Once-Trusted Institutions Are Falling For The Scam
There used to be a time when we could depend on graduate-level professional schools to be trustworthy and unflinching about the facts they taught, no matter the surrounding politics or worldviews. Those days seem to be over, unfortunately, as even medical schools are inserting wokeness into their curricula and policies.
We should have seen it coming.
We have known for years that universities and increasing numbers of K-12 public school leaders stand firmly on the political left. Most no longer try to hide their biases, which the American public finally seems to be understanding. The awakening for many people, especially parents, occurred over the past two years as we all had an unfettered look behind the curtain at teachers’ unions and their concerns only for their radical political agendas1. Students’ welfare was nowhere in the unions’ top priorities.
In the End, Sweden Did It Right
- By Stephen Moore
What if two years ago, when COVID-19 first hit these shores, our politicians hadn't panicked?
What if the government did what it has done every time we were confronted with a deadly virus, such as the Spanish flu or polio? Instead of locking down our schools, churches and businesses, the government could have simply informed citizens of the risks of getting sick and urged people to be extra careful about hygiene, stay out of crowded places and protect the vulnerable.
It turns out there was one country that mostly rejected lockdowns and let life go on as normal as possible under dire circumstances. That country was Sweden.
Conversation Peace: Diplomacy Fizzles as Russia Ramps up
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
On the streets, people say, there isn't panic. Grocery stores still have food, and kids head off to soccer practice as if their country weren't on the brink of a full-scale war. But anxiety and fear hang like a darkening cloud. Ukrainian Alexandra Matzota says that when she wakes up in the middle of the night -- which is often now -- she checks the news "to see if we have been attacked." Like most families, they have an emergency plan in place now. They've stocked up on food, bought a wood-burning stove in case the power or gas is cut, and stockpiled fuel. But no matter how much she tells herself everything is fine, Matzota knows "you can't remain calm when 10 times a day you see statements about an imminent attack..."
Are Democrats Kicking Away Their Future?
- By Pat Buchanan
Not so long ago, Democrats seemed the party of the future.
"Inevitable!" predicted some pundits, for demography is destiny.
Moreover, in 2020, Democrats, who had won the popular vote six times in seven presidential elections, swept the popular vote again, by 6 million ballots. And they captured both houses of Congress.
The future did seem to be theirs.

New Study Reveals: Most Americans are Open or Very Open to Talking About Faith
- By Christian Newswire
ARDEN, N.C. -- In a new study, Lifeway Research Group, in partnership with Evangelism Explosion International, interviewed more than 1,000 Americans to find out how open they are to talking about their faith. They found that 66% were open or very open to having a conversation about faith with a friend. When the question changed from friend to stranger, 51% were still open to that conversation.
The study also asked questions to gauge the availability that Americans have to the Gospel through personal connections. It found that six out of ten people say that many of their friends who claim to be Christians rarely talk about their faith. Also, it found that 40% say they wouldn't think about faith on their own if a friend or family member did not bring it up. Males aged 18-34 were the most likely to agree to that statement.
Last Straw: Pro-Life Groups File Complaints Seeking Charges & Closure of Shoddy Alabama Abortion Business After Illegal Dumping
- By Operation Rescue
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- When Fr. Terry Gensemer and his wife returned to their Birmingham, Alabama, home one evening earlier this month, they discovered mysterious black trash bags left anonymously on their property. Curious, they inspected the contents of the bags and were shocked by their grisly discovery.
Inside were documents and bloody refuse from the West Alabama Women's Center, (WAWC), an abortion facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Included were suction abortion cannulas that contained blood. One had a bit of what appeared to be human tissue.
Documents included patient names, remittance receipts from credit cards used to pay for abortions, and ultrasound images of babies inside their mothers' wombs with the name of the abortion facility clearly printed at the top.
The Decline of American Culture
- By Mike Scruggs
Half-Time at the 2022 Super Bowl
“It isn’t hate to speak the truth.’’—J. K. Rowling
A few days after the Super Bowl, I had lunch with a group of men, most of whom had watched the Super Bowl. There was little talk of the game, the players, or the coaches. No one was in the least mean-spirited in their remarks, but most voiced an amused disgust with the half-time show and much of the advertising. This year’s Super Bowl was yet another marker in America’s cultural and moral decline, which with alarming corporate business complicity is creating moral havoc in American society, culture, and government.
I also received a few emails expressing similar concerns.
“I don’t believe in “cancel culture” but in my household, professional football is canceled. We need to wake up and recognize right from wrong and stop the cultural drift to the left.”
“We watched it, and it was a disgusting half time show. I feel bad for kids growing up listening to rap crap and watching girls twerk on a halftime show.”

We look forward to his insights and analysis.”
This Is NOT a Democracy – It Never Has Been – Part 2
- By W.H. Lamb
Last time we explored the “specter” of ‘pure democracy’, a system of government greatly feared and derided by our Founding generation, yet the definition of which is poorly understood by Americans of all ages, especially those under 40. It was not always so, because the wise men who crafted our 1787 Constitution knew the differences between democracies, republics, oligarchies, and monarchies, plus all of the freedom destroying or freedom enhancing variants of those forms of government.
THE TYRANNY OF DEMOCRACY
I began Part 1 of this series by quoting from a very interesting article from the blog: Center For Self Governance, written by Bill Norton and published in that blog on Jan. 23, 2017. I resume quoting from Mr. Norton’s observations:
“We are witnessing the tyranny of democracy being played out during this current transition of power (at that time from President Obama to President Trump). Refusal to accept the outcome of the (2016) election based on the popular vote; protests that lead to riots in the streets; boycotts and calling for the elimination of the Electoral College, are just a few symptoms of being conditioned to believe our form of government is a pure democracy. (Remember: ‘pure democracy’=mob rule—whl).
Citizens’ Rights to Zone Their Property Fails with a Deadlock at Greenville County Council
- By James Spurck, Publisher
“If you take away people’s ability to be able to zone themselves, it is nothing but communism.” – Councilman Joe Dill
All seemed smooth as Greenville County Council moved quickly through their agenda on Tuesday, February 15th until it came to a piece of property located off a two-lane State-maintained collector road, Griffin Mill Road which is owned by Dyrone Derek Moss.
On behalf of Moss, Alvin Thomas Johnson of Levi Grantham Land Group, LLC requested to rezone the 15 acres of land from R-S, Residential Suburban District, to R-15, a Single Family Residential District where they plan to develop approximately 30 units on this property.
This property is currently a part of the Plan Greenville County Comprehensive Plan. According to this plan, this property is designated as Mixed Employment Center, Floodplain, and Suburban Mixed Use. There are no schools within a mile, as well as no bus routes and no sidewalks in the area. This parcel is 0.67 miles southwest of the intersection of Interstate I-85 and Fork Shoals Road. It has approximately 560 feet of frontage along Griffin Mill Road.
Present State of the Nation
- By Jim S. Brooks - Roebuck, SC
Passionate contrariety of political and religious opinion is nothing new in our country! Blessedly, in a Great America, peaceful public demonstrations and free individual expression of diverse public, even unpopular, viewpoints are allowed: but, “not” physical violence, destruction, civil disobedience; nor, individual suppression of another’s contrary public opinion by intimidation, violence or lawlessness! Freedom of speech and religion in the United States is the envy of the world! Violent and forceful restraint of those rights by some may lead to anarchy and loss of those public freedoms! Freedom of speech does not automatically mutate into freedom of physical violence!
Years Later, State Lawmaker Owes Tens of Thousands in Ethics Fines
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
As of 2015, state Rep. Cezar McKnight owed a total of $60,190 in civil fines to the state Senate Ethics Committee after being publicly reprimanded for campaign reporting violations when he was a Senate candidate.
To date, only $1,039.12 of his debt has been collected, according to committee records.
In a recent interview with The Nerve, McKnight, D-Williamsburg, an attorney who has been a House member since 2014, said he doesn’t know exactly how much he still owes.
“I’m working on trying to find a way to get this resolved because I think it’s unfair,” he said. “I’m actively trying to get redress of my grievances.”
Canada Goes Tow to Tow with Truckers
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
They blasted their horns and sang "O Canada!" Some of the protestors linked arms as Ottawa police moved through the 300 semis and campers, arresting people along the way. Others locked themselves in their cars or defiantly rolled canisters of diesel down the blockade. But that was the extent of the "backlash." When officers started cracking down on the Freedom Convoy Friday morning, there were no Molotov cocktails. The truckers didn't torch government buildings or throw fireworks at mounted police. Ever since the demonstration started, they've been composed, peaceful. And the American Left can't stand it.
South of the Canadian border, if it's not on fire -- it's not a protest. That's what Democrats and their anarchist friends have taught us since George Floyd's death sparked a nationwide mob in 2020. After more than a year of looting, vandalizing, arson, and general domestic terror, what the Canadians have managed to accomplish is almost unrecognizable to the U.S. Left. To the rest of America, it's a refreshing reminder of the kind of civil disobedience this nation used to embrace for change. It's a peaceful protest, Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) told the Daily Signal, "clog things up, make them think about the [vaccine] mandates."
Double-Speak, Lies, and Precedents Driving the Convention of States
- By Tom DeWeese - American Policy Center
The drive for an Article V Convention of States is assaulting state legislatures at an intense level. Obviously, proponents of such an action are counting on the discontent of Americans as the Biden cabal proves the misery of massive federal intrusion into every aspect of our lives. Americans naturally want to rein it in.
The problem is the Article V Convention of States strategy is a false hope being perpetrated by forces pretending to be conservative, promising a workable solution to balance the federal budget, stop out-of-control regulations, and give the government back to the people. In truth, the Article V Convention of States movement is one of the greatest flimflams ever perpetrated on the American people. It’s nearly the equivalent of combining the lies of the covid pandemic with election fraud and climate change. In short, the drive for the Article V Convention of States is just that dangerous because unaware state legislators are falling for it, and naive and trusting constituents are supporting them. The Republic is at stake.
A Black History Plea for Justice and Unity
- By Alveda C. King
Dear America, we are over halfway through Black History Month 2022. I am writing today with a plea for prayers of love, unity, righteousness, justice, and law and order; first in our nation, and then around the world.
In light of controversial current events such as trucker protests, critical race theory debates, China challenges, and political jockeying over crack pipes, (https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/biden-administration-black-americans-alveda-king-jack-brewer-ken-blackwell) I believe it's time to pause and take a prayer break.
Thankfully, in spite of controversial news reports, natural and man made disasters, and all types of mayhem, there is quite a bit of positive attention being given to the subject of black history this year.
Laura Woodworth Inspires Writers to Counter Cancel Culture with Bold Faith at NRB 2022
- By Cooke Media Group
With cancel culture and other counter-Christian agendas presiding over our nation, Laura Woodworth's session "Effective Writing: Share Your Faith with the World" at NRB 2022 will inspire writers to counteract the darkness with light.
LOS ANGELES -- In an age when Christianity has become a counterculture, Laura Woodworth inspires Christian writers to boldly share their faith. A speaker at NRB 2022 in Nashville, her workshop "Effective Writing: Share Your Faith with the World" (Thursday, March 10) will equip Christian writers to counteract the dark and disturbing agendas of secular media with intentional writing that brings truth, hope and light into the world.
"Cancel culture has made a strong attempt to cancel the voice of Christianity in our society," shares Woodworth. "But in a digital age, your words of light and truth can literally touch the world."
Behind the Rings, a Bloody Harvest
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
Inside the high-tech cocoon of the Olympic Games, it's literally a different world. Robots whip up fresh pots of coffee and cocktails, while bowls of noodles magically appear from the ceiling. There are nail and hair salons, flower shops, menus with 678 food options, even "zero-G" beds. It's the closed loop the Chinese government wanted -- the "bubble" that would keep the questions at bay. Athletes go about their days, writing sports greatest stories -- while outside, a dirty secret lurks. There's a second genocide ripping through the provinces, a bloody trail almost too ghoulish to believe.
Like most people brought to the camps, Gulbahar Jeliova was beaten within an inch of her life. And unlike everyone brought to the camps, she was treated in the hospital afterward. While she was there, Gulbahar noticed two young girls, both dressed in orange uniforms. It was a sign, another prisoner told her, that they were being taken "to sleep." That's odd, Gulbahar thought. Why can't they sleep in their rooms? Because these girls, the other patient explained, were being put to sleep "forever."
Google Project Could Get Part of $150M in State Surplus Money
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
The S.C. Department of Commerce hasn’t committed to any projects with most of the $150 million in state surplus funds that the agency wants to spend next fiscal year for a new “infrastructure” program, the department’s director told budget writers recently.
Yet Commerce secretary Harry Lightsey, whom Gov. Henry McMaster appointed last June, disclosed to a state House Ways and Means panel that approximately $80 million of the proposed $150 million could be used in part for a Myrtle Beach project tied to internet search giant Google, and another project involving an automotive test track at a publicly owned business park near Greenville.
He also discussed two other projects totaling about $70 million that would benefit corporate giants Boeing and Volvo, the details of which were revealed by The Nerve before the Feb. 1 Ways and Means Economic Development Subcommittee hearing.
Has Putin Won Round One in Ukraine?
- By Pat Buchanan
When NBC's Lester Holt asked President Joe Biden what might prompt him to send U.S. troops to rescue Americans fleeing Ukraine, Biden replied: "There's not. That's a world war when Americans and Russia start shooting at one another."
"It's not like we're dealing with a terrorist organization. We're dealing with one of the largest armies in the world. ... Things could go crazy quickly."
Biden was saying Americans are not going to fight Russians in Ukraine, even to protect or extract imperiled U.S. troops, diplomats or citizens.
Speaking last week on the Senate floor, Sen. Ted Cruz echoed Biden: "I want to be clear and unequivocal. ... Under no circumstances should we send our sons and daughters to die to defend Ukraine from Russia."
Bible Trial Targets the Core of Christian Faith: Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin
- By Christian Newswire
HELSINKI, Finland -- The following statement is released by Päivi Räsänen (photo), Member of the Parliament of Finland:
The prosecutor has a year ago in her written application for summons made a number of false and untrue allegations about my views. According to the prosecutor, my view is that "homosexuals are not created by God as heterosexuals are." Nowhere have I said such a thing. I have repeatedly emphasized that all human beings are created in the image of God and have equal dignity and human rights. In the passage to which the prosecutor refers, reference was made to the biblical account of creation. Referring to it, I stated: "In the beginning, God created a man and a woman and intended marriage to be between the two. I regard homosexuals as fully equal humans and, in addition, equally worthy human beings created in the image of God."
The End of COVID-19
- By Neil Patel
We don't want antifa and Black Lives Matter activists shutting down cities with riots, and we shouldn't want truckers blockading roads either. In each case, as the rule of law is upheld, it is incumbent on those in power to also look at the root causes driving the unrest. American authorities seemed inclined to look at those root causes when it came to the race protests and riots. For some reason, Canadian and American authorities seem totally uninterested in what is driving the increasing COVID-19 civil disobedience.
People cannot stay locked down forever; it causes real harm. Pandemic restrictions have been in place for almost two years now. It's an understatement to say people are over it. Everyone wants to protect the most vulnerable among us, but the damage has been adding up. That damage is not hitting those at the top of our society. They can fly private to their vacation compounds, sit maskless in box seats at the Super Bowl and ride out the storm while making record profits. Regular Americans do not have that option. They're feeling the pain. That pain is not hypothetical. Depression, suicide and drug overdoses are all skyrocketing. The American Psychological Association says America is in a full blown "mental health crisis."
