Reed---COUPLE-PORTRAIT-150dpiRosemary and Charlie Reed celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the home of their daughter, Dianne Dennis, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The celebration was attended by family and friends.

An earlier celebration took place on June 27, 2009, at the home of their daughter, Charlene Cox, of Taylors, South Carolina. This surprise party was given by their daughters and their eight grandchildren (Malaine and Andy Kantra and daughter Grace,

of Newtown, Pennsylvania; Charlene and Jim Cox and their children, Caleb, Elise and Casey of Taylors, South Carolina; Dianne and Tim Dennis and their children, Sarah, Bethany, Alyssa and Brenna, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana). The festivities included a mock-wedding, performed by the grandchildren, and a musical performance by Caleb and Elise Cox, singing Unchained Melody, (the couple's favorite song from the 50's) accompanied by Sarah Dennis on piano.

Reed---Reunion_2517_2x3Charlie is from Port Allen, Louisiana, and Rosemary is (the former Rosemary Pirello) from Plaquemine, Louisiana. They were married December 27, 1959, at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Charlie’s job as a mechanical engineer took the family all over the United States. They lived in 13 states and traveled to the others, seeing 48 of 50, including Hawaii and most recently, Alaska. They reside in Taylors, South Carolina.
