Open Letter to Mayor Knox White and the Members of Greenville City Council
- By Terry M. Thacker
The ordinance that is being proposed for a vote today by City Council is a governmental overreach.
I value my Constitutional rights and the liberties that I have enjoyed up until this point, liberties for which our forebears fought over 200 years ago.

Greenville's Proposed Government Overreach Ordinance
- By Heather Sheen
Dear Mayor White,
Please reconsider the idea of instituting a shelter in place for Greenville. The city is already fairly deserted as it is. Businesses are struggling. There is no need to further alarm people and hurt businesses by this ordinance.

Did the Greenville County Council Read the Sunset Resolution?
- By Michelle Shuman - Greenville, SC
Did the Greenville County Council Read the Sunset Resolution?
The recent passing of the “Sunset Resolution” by the Greenville County Council should cause all of us to question if any of those in favor of the resolution really read it. If they had read it, they would have realized that they did not rescind the 1996 LGBTQ resolution which is an opinion resolution, not a policy resolution. Instead, they rescinded non-binding policy resolutions such as the Veterans’ and MLK holidays.

99 vs l (one!)
- By John H Utz - Greenville SC
Yes, can you imagine such a ratio? That is the ratio of 99 seasonal flu deaths here in So. Carolina so far this season, vs just one (newly reported) death from the coronavirus here in S.C. Yet we hear nothing of the continuing flu deaths; we even have a questionably successful flu vaccine available for years. Statistically, the (seasonal) death total for the U.S. from flu is anywhere between 12,000 and multi 10Ms each year. Yet we hear virtually nothing currently, just be sure 'and get your flu shot!'

Bernie Sanders, Castro, Cuba and All Things 'Democratic Socialist'
- By John H. Utz - Greenville, SC
Let's go back to April, 1964, Cleveland, Ohio. Our Young Republican Club (John Birch 'chapter'!) was sponsoring a speech by John Martino, speaker for the John Birch Society, author of "I Was Castro's Prisoner." Martino was a small business owner in Cuba, in opposition to new dictator Fidel Castro sufficiently enough to be thrown in prison ( and apparently not so sufficient as to be remove by a firing squad).

The Lie Re: "The Two Wings of the Demo. Party"
- By John H. Utz - Greenville, SC
We hear incessantly of the so-called "two wings" of the Democratic Party; ie, the 'left wing' and the 'moderates.' Sorry, but they really are one and the same.
Here's whats going on: The 'Sanders' et al wing (medicare for all; the Green New Deal; global warming; pay-off student debt; free college for all; unlimited abortions; most all of the above, or some variation of same;) this being the 'socialist', statist, marxist, whatever, wing of the party. Highly supported by ignorant, brain-washed college/youth plus liberal democrats of old who have just been seduced to the general leftward movement of politics/society/culture.

Is There Any Hope ...
- By John H. Utz - Greenville SC
Is there any hope ... for civility, integrity, truth, common sense ... yeah, for the Constitution, even the Republic??
Let me give you some examples why I ask, what you may consider, a ridiculous question. Recently I was watching an ESPN promotion piece re: Michael Vick; you know, the NFL star quarterback who spent a couple of years in prison for dog-fighting and other cruelties. A female sports reporter was questioning whether Vick, who had apologized for his actions and had served the jail time, how could we know that he was truly repentant of these terrible crimes? I'm sorry, but ever day in the U.S. we are aborting something like 3,000 at least innocent unborns. And she, and essentially the rest of America is more concerned about some dogs!!
