The White House's Voter Protection Racket
- By James Aldridge - Anderson, SC
Earlier this year, the Pew Center described our voter registration system as "Inaccurate, Costly. and Inefficient." It reported that 24 million voter registrations in the U.S. are not valid; and that more than 4.5 million deceased are listed as voters or registered in more than one state. Still, the Obama Administration, and its 'attack dog,' Attorney General Eric Holder, is suing states that are enacting common sense voter ID laws to correct these problems.

Political Allegiances In Order to Gain Office
- By Jim and Nancy Page - Greenville, SC
Costumes and fall weather seem to go together. Turn on the TV, and you’ll recognize beloved football mascots. Answer the doorbell, and you’ll see dressed-up children hoping for candy.
Unfortunately, voters must also contend with disguises that have less sentimental appeal and far more serious implications for the state. Consider how our country has spent the last four years struggling through the administration of a politician who portrayed his values as something far different from his true character.

“You Didn’t Build That”
- By Ken Hausman - Sarasota, FL
Class warfare took a new and dismal turn when President Barrack Obama recently uttered this timeless denunciation of the entrepreneurial spirit. He also disclosed the underlying strategy Democrats hope will carry them to four more years’ control of the executive branch, if not the full legislature as well.
Until now the demonization of risk takers by campaign Democrats has been limited to Mitt Romney in his private equity role at Bain Capital. Now, with Mr. Obama’s open declaration of war on risk takers, anyone who seeks to better him or herself by private enterprise is fair game for derision and worse. Someone like Robert Redmond, whose Six and Twenty Distillery in Easly will soon begin production, or Ed Harris, whose successful enterprises dot the upstate – and who seeks a seat in the Statehouse as a conservative petition candidate – can now be cut down to size in an appeal for the votes of their employees and anyone else who looks with envy on someone who by his or her own effort has built a profitable business.

Obama is Only a Symptom of What Ails America
- By James Aldridge - Anderson, SC
On 4/28/10, an article in the Prague newspaper Prager Zeitung from the Czech Republic stated America's obvious problem: "The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool; but, It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president."

Skelton’s Days In Columbia Numbered
- By Ken Hausman - Sarasota, FL
As far as electoral travesties go, the case of the Republican primary for the District 3 seat in the State Assembly beats them all. Clemson resident Ed Harris, who defeated incumbent B. R. Skelton in the balloting, had earlier been thrown off the ballot by the state Supreme Court along with 200 or so other candidates based on the questionable pretext of a filing error. Shortly thereafter, Pickens County GOP Chairman Phillip Bowers, concluding that Mr. Harris had properly filed on paper as well as by E-mail the required document, reinstated Mr. Harris on the ballot. Mr. Harris, a strong conservative, went on to win the election, which is where the story should have ended.

The Real Question Should Be: What is Obama Hiding?
- By James Aldridge - Anderson, SC
On 7/11/12, Julie Pace of the Associated Press, by way-of-the Anderson Independent-Mail of Anderson writes that the Obama election campaign has a politically loaded question it 'wants voters to think about': What is Mitt Romney hiding? Obviously, liberal Pace is hoping to help the Democrats in their attempts to change the subject from the weak economy which they have 'taken the lead' in creating. The subject in question is Romney's not bringing forth records of his private finances which he has in a blind, off-shore trust, which is standard procedure for many.

Obamacare Is A Lie, President Obama Is A Liar
- By John H. Utz - Greenville, SC
Thanks to an inept Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney, most all Republicans and a whole host of pathetic TV and Radio commentators, including FoxNews, it is incredible just how much misunderstanding and misinformation there is about Obamacare. For starters, there is much general discussion of the increasing total costs of Obamacare (which is essentially very unconvincing political oratory); but there is almost no discussion of the costs of the many individual programs.
