Mrs. Ensley’s Washington Center class participated in The Great Kindness Challenge the week of January 28th! The Great Kindness Challenge is a one week initiative devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible.
Students read the News-To-You article “The Great Kindness Challenge” and answered comprehension questions using picture symbol answer choices. Students also followed the steps of a recipe in order to make “kindness cookies.” They delivered cookies to our wonderful custodial staff in order to spread kindness throughout the school. Finally, students completed a writing activity where they decided how they would “sprinkle” others with kindness throughout their school day. Students chose acts such as: giving a compliment, smiling at someone, and helping a friend.
