Yarbro 1

Eleventh graders from Ms. Jessica Yarbro’s Washington Center class enjoyed a break from the spring rain at Lake Conestee Park in Mauldin, SC. Students used their recent science study on energy to find energy sources throughout the park.  Students spotted sunlight peeking through the clouds, water rushing down the river, and even electrical outlets at the park playground.  The class was also able to practice their communication skills by selecting core words such as “go”, “stop”, and “wait”, to navigate themselves through the trail.  They even enjoyed a snack at the picnic benches after their hike on the Lake Conestee trail, getting on the bus to head back to school just in time for the rain to start again.
