There was NO 'BLUE WAVE' in the just concluded 2018 mid-term election. How can I say that?  That's easy; in the Senate, thanks to Pres. Trump's aggressive campaigning, and the very visual atrocious attacks on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by the ultra liberal Democratic members of the Judiciary Committee, the voting public reacted and voted accordingly, ie, throwing out several members who so participated.

As to the House, there were something like 40 plus GOP incumbents who 'retired' (for a variety of reasons, good and bad!). My point is, there is a very high retention percentage for incumbency; and, assuming there was lesser 'retirement', an excellent chance that there would still be a GOP controlled House (for better or for worse! As the GOP House and Senate were pathetic in accomplishment). One final point: my support of Pres. Trump and the GOP is as "the lesser of two evils!
