Blue Ridge High School held their 6th Annual AFJROTC Awards Banquet at Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church, Thursday, May 23, 2013. Outstanding cadets received 16 National awards during the ceremony.

The Blue Ridge Aerospace Science Department is headed by Lt. Col. David Rogers, Senior Aerospace Science Instructor and MSgt. Fred Fuller, Aerospace Science Instructor. Mrs. Reena Watson is the Blue Ridge High School Principal.

During its short existence, the Blue Ridge High School AFJROTC program has had a notable positive impact on the discipline and overall public image of the school. The current cadet class has brought honor to  itself and the school by earning the Distinguished Unit Award With Merit.

Eighteen cadets from the class attended Cadet Leadership School. They provided a Color Guard for every Varsity home football game and boy’s basketball game. Forty-one cadets marched in the Greer and Travelers Rest Christmas Parades.

The Blue Ridge cadets provided Color Guards for 33 events during the school year, ranging from the Cliffs at Glassy National Day of Prayer to the Greer Family Fest. Finally, the cadets hosted the 7th annual blood drive, collecting 108 units of blood with 56 first time donors.
