First Pres. Children Entertain at Harvest Hope Food Basket Luncheon

Children from Greenville's First Presbyterian Church provided musical entertainment for the Harvest Hope Food Basket Luncheon fund raiser held at the Poinsett Club, Wednesday, September 28th. The mission of Harvest Hope Food Bank is to provide for the needs of hungry people by gathering and sharing quality food with dignity, compassion and education; and ending local hunger through shared community involvement. The non-profit 501(c)3 organization began as an emergency food box program in 1981.

Sixteenth Regiment SCV Adds Seven New Members

Jim Bouchillon, at left, Commander of the 16th Regiment South Carolina Volunteers, Camp 36, Sons of Confederate Veterans, added seven new members to the roster during the September meeting of the unit. They also added a new SCV Cadet Alden Garrett (not shown). The new members include James Blackmon, Robert Bryant, James Connell, Stephen Garrett, Harold Hawkins and Kenneth Willis.
The SCV unit owns and operates the Museum and Library of Confederate History in Greenville and sponsors the 16th South Carolina Color Guard of Honor which participates in various events across the Southland.
Members are descendants of men who served in the Confederate armed forces.
