City Councilwoman Amy Ryberg Doyle has announced her bid to run for South Carolina’s State Senate District 6 this morning at the Ryan Homes' Highview Towne surrounded by her family and supporters.

Doyle said she is running because “as a mother of four, a wife of 20 years, a successful business owner and experienced public servant, I am ready to go to work keeping our community a great place to live, work and raise families."

Doyle continued "I want to advocate for creating long term solutions for roads and infrastructure, more governmental transparency, improving our children’s education, and protecting the unborn."

Doyle concluded “It is important that our community has smart growth and that our development projects do not create more issues with congested traffic but alleviates it.” Doyle said, “My time on city council has allowed me to see how we should be mindful of and strategic with development projects.”

The District 6 Senate seat was vacated when Senator William Timmons recently became Congressman-elect for South Carolina’s 4th Congressional District. He will be replacing Congressman Trey Gowdy.
