California Public School Teacher Fired for Her Religious Beliefs Settles with California School District
- By Advocates for Faith & Freedom
MURRIETA, Calif. -- Last night, the Jurupa Unified School District Board approved a settlement agreement between Jessica Tapia and the Jurupa Unified School District to settle her lawsuit for $360,000. Last year, Advocates for Faith and Freedom filed a lawsuit challenging Jurupa Unified School District in the Central District of California after the wrongful termination of public school teacher Jessica Tapia for her religious beliefs. Her termination came after the school district refused to accommodate Jessica's religious beliefs, which conflicted with the school district's harmful policies, such as referring to students by their preferred pronouns and withholding information from parents regarding their child's gender identity.

The Bible Does Not Justify Anti-Semitism
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
A bill (H.R. 6090) to make the Department of Education adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s (IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism “is unnecessarily raising concerns” about its effect on the gospel message, said Quena Gonzalez, senior director of government affairs at Family Research Council. The IHRA definition includes “contemporary examples,” he told The Washington Stand, among which is “using … claims of Jews killing Jesus … to characterize Israel or Israelis.”
But “no biblical Christian characterizes Israelis or modern Israel, just because they’re Jewish, as having killed Jesus,” Gonzalez responded. “Christians have long denounced this trope, going back to the church fathers of the first few centuries, and Christians today need not be concerned that this bill implicates proclaiming the gospel.”

2024 Theme Calls America to 'Light Up' Our Nation with Prayer
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- For generations, Americans have lifted up scripture-filled prayers in every season and circumstance. From the first national calls to prayer by our Founding Fathers seeking divine guidance, the truths of the Bible have been the foundation for prayer through every tragedy and triumph in our history.
The 2024 National Day of Prayer Theme is a call to stand on this foundation, to "Lift Up The Word – Light Up The World" inspired from the faithful prayer of our theme verse, 2 Samuel 22:29-31 ESV "For you are my lamp, O Lord, and my God lightens my darkness. For by You I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him."

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly Friday
- By Joshua Arnold - The Washington Stand
At first glance, Good Friday seems pretty bad. It’s fundamentally about a man being executed by one of the most excruciating methods human cruelty has devised. Adding insult to injury, before he died this man was betrayed, beaten, mocked, whipped, jeered, stripped, ridiculed, and slandered. And, to top it all off, the man who so suffered was innocent of any crime. What is good about that?
The grotesque, unsettling nature of this unjust execution has prompted at least one megachurch network of campuses to omit references to “Calvary” or the “blood of Jesus” from its Easter invitations to non-Christians who may attend — I would say, “Resurrection Sunday,” but they also avoid mentioning the resurrection.
