Republicans Make Life a ‘States’ Issue’ at Their Peril
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
There’s a reason men like Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) are so popular: they lead without apology. After years of timidity from the Republican Party, they've been a refreshing change from the hand-wringing GOP who wilted under cultural pressure. For a while, it looked like Republicans had really leaned into this warrior mentality, refusing to be intimidated in the toughest of debates. Then Dobbs happened — and the old reflex of cowardice is back, threatening to undo every pro-life stand the party has ever taken.
Big Pharma Gets Unsafe Birth Control Drug Recommended for OTC Sale - Including to Children
- By Life Legal Defense Foundation
NAPA, Calif. -- Yesterday, a panel of "expert" advisors voted to recommend that the FDA allow the birth control drug "Opill" to be sold over the counter (OTC) without a prescription. The FDA is expected to approve the OTC sale of Opill this summer, even after FDA reviewers expressed concerns about the lack of adequate safety studies.
"Opill" is the proprietary name for the hormonal birth control drug norgestrel, which is manufactured by French pharmaceutical company HRA Pharma. HRA Pharma was recently acquired by Perrigo, a "self-care" company facing a host of legal woes, including securities violations, lawsuits over failed medical products, baby formula recalls, and misleading financial statements.
Christian Wisdom and the Supernatural Rights of Man
- By Winston McCuen - South Carolina
In these dark times, the truth about political rights and freedoms is so obscure, and falsehood is so well-established, that -- as Pascal said -- unless we love the truth, we cannot know it.
The true beginning and foundation of all rights and freedoms in earthly political life is the primal reality that every man is made in God's image and likeness. In his Summa Theologiae, Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274) gives us the best explanation available of this primal reality.
Will Congress’s Spending Bankrupt Us?
- By Eagle Forum
House, Senate, and White House Debt Limit Negotiations Have Begun
Congress has been busy over the last few months tackling parental rights, protecting women in sports, judicial nominees, and more, but they have yet to address the elephant in the room: the debt limit. Several strategies have been thrown out to address the impending default. Some have been legitimate while others have been talking points to scare the other side into negotiating. As expected, the Biden Administration (that will dictate to Congressional Democrats) and the House Republicans (supported by most Senate Republicans) have failed to reach an agreement on a path forward yet, but with talks underway, one side will have to make the first move.
Comparing Two Flood Models
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
There are two main theories on the Genesis Flood that, there have been others, but these are not only the most popular but the ones that have produced successfully tested results. They are Catastrophic Plate Tectonics and Hydroplate theory. These two theories you have a lot in common but also significant differences. In this article we are going to discuss the similarities and differences between these two theories.
Ukraine War, Desperate Times Lead to Surge in Summer Bible Camps
- By Slavic Gospel Association
75,000 vulnerable children, orphans expected to attend Bible camps across former Soviet Union during 'summer of suffering'
LOVES PARK, Ill -- The Ukraine war and growing desperation in hard times are driving a surge in the number of children expected to flock to Bible camps this summer across the former Soviet Union, a region once steeped in atheism.
Amid fears the Ukraine conflict could escalate at any moment, Illinois-based Slavic Gospel Association (SGA, www.sga.org) says it expects more than 800 local evangelical churches partnering with the ministry to run summer Bible camps in Ukraine, Russia and neighboring countries this year, hosting a total of 75,000 orphans and vulnerable children.
The Great Left-Wing Disinformation Operation Against the Supreme Court
- By Josh Hammer
The past five weeks has seen a flurry of media activity, clearly coordinated, against the right-of-center U.S. Supreme Court.
First, the outlet ProPublica began publishing a series of pieces "exposing" the well-known fact of Justice Clarence Thomas' long-running friendship with billionaire real estate tycoon Harlan Crow, and alleging ethical improprieties pertaining to the justice's purported failure to disclose certain information. Second, Politico alleged a conflict of interest for Justice Neil Gorsuch in an old real estate transaction in his native Colorado that involved the CEO of a major law firm. Third, Business Insider relied on a "whistleblower" to allege corruption on the part of Jane Roberts, the wife of Chief Justice John G. Roberts, due to her being a well-compensated legal recruiter. Fourth, The New York Times ran a lengthy and meandering front-page story about the at-times coziness between George Mason University's Antonin Scalia Law School and some of the Court's right-of-center justices.

Why the Debt Ceiling Continues to Matter
- By Veronique de Rugy
The debt-ceiling standoff has people concerned about what will happen if the U.S. defaults on its debt. I certainly hope both sides will come together to avoid this outcome. But it is still worth reminding everyone how incredibly precarious the status quo is, and why something needs to change.
You've heard the warnings about our debt levels, to the point where they might be easy to tune out. I make these all the time. When assessing how much we should worry, it's wise to look both at our current situation and where we're heading. This year, our budget deficit will likely be $1.4 trillion. What's more, the deficit will reach about $2.8 trillion in 2033. And that's assuming peace, prosperity, relatively low interest rates, no new spending and that some provisions of the 2017 tax cut will expire as scheduled.
‘There’s a Remedy for Our Nation - and That Remedy Is Not Gun Control’: Congressman
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
Waves of grief continue to break over Texas, as the tight-knit Allen community comes to grip with the weekend’s senseless shooting. As the names and pictures of Saturday’s victims were released by police, hearts across the country shattered at the news that two families had lost multiple loved ones. A six-year-old boy, orphaned by the death of his parents and brother, is all that remains of the Cho family. Other moms and dads reeled at the horror of losing two elementary-aged daughters as the Mendozas did. After Nashville, Louisville, and so many other devastating tragedies this spring, people are desperate for answers. When will it end — and what can we possibly do to stop it?
A Truth Bomb in the Empire of Lies
- By Mike Scruggs
The Empire of Lies
This is 10 minutes of a Douglas Macgregor interview by British TV. Macgregor nails what is going on in Ukraine that establishment media in the US, Canada, and NATO are covering up. It is a truth bomb. Practically everything the Biden Administration and establishment media tell you about the Ukraine war is false and the opposite is most often true.

Conspiracies — From Theories to Facts
- By Paul Dragu - The New American
For decades, the media has stigmatized as “conspiracy theorists” those who resist certain Establishment official narratives. That’s been especially shown in cases of those who bucked the approved narratives of all things Covid-19. In this episode, we look at three storylines that were labeled conspiracy theories but which time has vindicated, and we finish with the overarching conspiracy that is proving truer by the day.
Plus, Christian Gomez interviews Scott Schara, a man driven to expose what he believes were hospital Covid-19 protocols intentionally designed to kill patients. Schara’s young daughter died while hospitalized with Covid in a Wisconsin hospital, prompting his and his family’s mission.
South Carolina: Constitutional Carry Advances to Floor from Senate Judiciary Committee
- By NRA-ILA
The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12-11 to pass S.109, the NRA-backed Constitutional Carry bill, and it has now been sent to the Senate floor for further consideration. This is a huge step toward South Carolina becoming the next state to recognize the fundamental right of law-abiding adults to carry firearms for self-defense without having to navigate burdensome government regulations. Constitutional Carry does not change the criteria for eligibility to obtain a carry permit, nor does it affect previously issued permits.
NGU's National Championship Baseball Team Recognized at State Capitol
- By Billy Cannada - NGU
North Greenville University’s (NGU) 2022 NCAA Division II National Championship baseball team was recognized on the floor of the South Carolina House of Representatives in Columbia on April 27.
District 17 Representative Mike Burns welcomed the team to the historic State Capitol, recalling a run that ended in the program’s first national title.
“You’ve got to understand, there’s over 300 members in NCAA Division II,” Burns said.
Senators Feast on Taxpayer-Funded Earmarks for Pricey Projects
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
Through largely hidden budget earmarks, S.C. senators have proposed a total of more than $314 million for projects next fiscal year mainly in their respective legislative districts – including dozens of $1 million-plus requests, a review by The Nerve found.
The 46-member Senate two years ago changed its rules purportedly to require more disclosure of historically secret taxpayer-funded earmarks, but the chamber hasn’t posted online its latest earmark list, though it passed a $38-billion, fiscal year 2023-24 state budget version on April 19.
The Nerve recently obtained the Senate earmark list under the S.C. Freedom of Information Act. A separate request under the open-records law was made for any House earmarks; House Clerk Charles Reid in a written response said the 124-member chamber has “no document(s) responsive to your request.”
Biden Tanks under 'Brutal' Polling as Reelection Campaign Struggles to Lift Off
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
If Joe Biden’s team drew up a nightmare scenario for his reelection announcement, even they couldn’t have predicted something this awful. A string of crises, policy failures, and negative polling have all combined to make the rollout a complete dud by most pundits’ standards — and the idea of a second term unimaginable by most voters. Is two years already too much? The majority of Americans seem to be saying yes.
Until recently, the White House had managed to keep the storm clouds of China, an out-of-control southern border, inflation, and the Biden family’s questionable financials from breaking over an already shaky approval rating. That changed this week, as “brutal” poll numbers were released on everything from the president’s mental fitness to how he’s handling the job.
Why Doesn't Drowning in Debt Bother Biden?
- By Star Parker
The most perplexing thing about President Joe Biden's stance on the debt ceiling issue is that the staggering national debt does not seem to bother him.
In remarks Biden made the other day, he noted that the national debt has "accumulated over 200 years." And he also noted the debt increased under President Donald Trump.
But the president's selective memory chooses to overlook that when the Obama-Biden administration took office in 2009, national debt stood at 60% of GDP. When they left eight years later, it was at 100% of GDP.
Federal Trade Commission's Call of Duty Maneuver Is Actually a Dereliction of It
- By Stephen Moore
The British antitrust cops just announced they will oppose the proposed blockbuster $68.7 billion merger of two American companies -- Microsoft and gaming company Activision Blizzard, the owner of the wildly popular game Call of Duty. This decision is bad news for investors in companies, gamers and workers. But it's very good news for America's competitors in Asia and Europe.
The foreign regulators claim the merger will give monopolistic power to Microsoft in the computer gaming industry.
Border Security Bill Moving Through the House
- By Eagle Forum
House Republicans are addressing the crisis at the border, and they need our support. The open border policies of the Biden administration have led to unprecedented amounts of immigrants flooding into the United States. The House will vote this week to reverse the current disaster.
The Border Reinforcement Act (H.R. 2) focuses on reforming asylum and parole laws, uniting families, penalizing those here illegally, and holding employers accountable for who they hire.
H.R. 2 puts into law many Trump-era initiatives to stop the flow at the border. Previously stopped by the Biden administration, construction on the border wall would resume under this bill and requires additional barriers in certain locations. Extra funding will go to the brave men and women who are patrolling the border as well as hiring new agents to tackle the problem head-on.
'The Only Thing That Should Be Dragging in the Navy Is an Anchor': Congressman
- By Suzanne Bowdey - The Washington Stand
Anheuser-Busch hasn’t exactly been teaching a master class on marketing after its poisonous partnership with Dylan Mulvaney. When sales crashed, CEO Michel Doukeris tried the “It wasn’t a campaign — it was just a can” excuse for Bud Light’s relationship with the trans influencer, but it was $6 billion too late. Now, the U.S. Navy seems to be floating the same alibi for its drag queen recruiting videos. “The program has concluded, and the Navy is evaluating it,” Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin claimed. Well, the evaluation from House and Senate Republicans is in, and if this doesn’t stop, “heads will roll.”
CIA Nordstream Intelligence or Cover Story
- By Mike Scruggs
New CIA Release Blames Rogue Ukrainian Intelligence Group
According to a New York Times article released May 5, 2023, and a similar article in the Nation, the same day, the CIA has released new information that a group associated with Ukrainian Intelligence agencies, with possible Polish help, disabled the Nordstream pipelines on September 26, 2022. The articles distance any responsibility by Ukrainian President Zelensky, Ukrainian leadership, or the Biden Administration. The articles also allege that Ukraine had secretly developed “very advanced” underwater warfare technology, and that its intelligence agencies had a budget of $4.0 billion. The motive was saving Ukraine, a major natural gas supplier, from economic disaster. A much less sophisticated version of this theme regarding a crew of six, including two divers, on a 50-foot sailing yacht, appeared in the New York Times in March.
Our Bible, Our Constitution, Our Christian Heritage – Part 2
- By W.H. Lamb
Last time we explored some possibilities as to whether or not our troubled country, the U.S.A., was originally established as a Christian-oriented nation by religious people who were mostly Christians. One thing is certain when delving into our history: The Constitutional Republicknown as the United States of America was deliberately NOT established as a “Theocracy”, and in fact our Founders were aghast at the notion of such a form of government (as I would have been). Nor was it founded as a “Democracy”, which our Founders, in their wisdom, recognized as one of the very WORST forms of government (it IS). Many of our modern-day politicians, feeble-brained Dumbocrats and RINOS that they are, seem to always forget this fact (or ignore it on purpose)! I trust that you, my readers, know the vital differences between a “republic” and a “democracy”, and WHY we should keep it that way! (For a thorough explanation of that subject, log on to <timesexaminer.com>— then under LOCAL COLUMNISTS on our home page click on my name for a list of my archived articles, and then scroll down to the archived articles for the title: “This is a constitutional republic, not a democracy. Richey Encourages Perseverance During NGU’s 2023 Spring Commencement
- By Billy Cannada - NGU
Encouraged to make a difference by using their gifts and talents to glorify God, 281 North Greenville University students had their degrees conferred during Spring Commencement ceremonies Friday evening at Younts Stadium in Tigerville.
“The only chance we have to give a glimpse of glory to God on this earth is to do something through Him that causes people to ask ‘why?’” said Furman Men’s Basketball Coach Bob Richey, a 2006 summa cum laude graduate of NGU, who delivered the university’s Commencement address.
“If you play it safe, you’ll never get there. This world needs people with conviction. We need courage. We need believers. We’re equipped to go make a difference because of the gifts God has given us, and He’s begging us to use them,” he said.
Ukraine Keeping West in the Dark on Counteroffensive Plans – Politico
- By Angeline Tan - The New American
Ukraine is hesitant to disclose plans for its anticipated spring counteroffensive against Russia to its Western allies, owing to worries that such information could fall into the wrong hands, according to a May 2 Politico report.
European officials interviewed by Politico admitted that Kyiv’s fears were due to the recent disclosure of classified Pentagon documents, allegedly leaked by Massachusetts National Guard soldier Jack Teixeira.
The leaked Pentagon documents, whose veracity has not been officially confirmed but generally assumed to be true, assessed Russian and Ukrainian combat readiness, casualties, loopholes in Kyiv’s defenses, placed Kyiv officials “on high alert,” the report asserted.
Michigan Supreme Court Embroiled in Pronoun Battle Prompted by ACLU -- Thomas More Law Center Joins Fray
- By Thomas More Law Center
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- On Monday, May 1, the Thomas More Law Center ("TMLC") filed its written opposition in the Michigan Supreme Court challenging the wisdom of a proposed amendment to Michigan Court Rule 1.109, which would require all judges in the state to refer to parties and attorneys by any personal pronoun they select.
Erin Elizabeth Mersino, TMLC's Chief of Supreme Court and Appellate Practice, authored the eight-page opposition to the proposed rule. She commented that the proposed amendment "is the ACLU's latest attempt to destroy the very fabric of our nation by subjugating our inalienable right to free speech to mandatory endorsement of its transgender agenda." The proposed amendment is so extreme, judges will no longer be able to make judgments on a case-by-case basis. Failure to use a requested pronoun could result in the judge being punished for violating the court rule by the Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission.
Ban a Central Bank Digital Currency in South Carolina — Support H.4373
- By The John Birch Society
ACT NOW: South Carolina lawmakers are seeking to enact legislation banning Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) in the state.
House Bill 4373 (H.4373) is sponsored by Representative Kathy Landing (R-Mount Pleasant) and 20 other representatives.
If enacted, H.4373 would amend the state’s definition of money, found in the South Carolina’s Uniform Commercial Code, to exclude CBDCs — regardless of whether they are “issued by the United States Federal Reserve System, a federal agency, a foreign government, a foreign central bank, or a foreign reserve system.” The bill would also ban banking corporations from engaging in transactions involving CBDCs. This would effectively ban them within South Carolina.
