The 2014 Maidan Revolution
According to Eric Zuesse, writing in Strategic Culture (September 5, 2016), in 2011, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was tasked by President Obama to overthrow the democratically elected President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, and Syrian President Bashar-al-Assad in Syria by means of “color revolutions.” Color revolutions are opportunistic regime changes by “popular revolutions,” which are clandestinely planned, directed, and financed by CIA sources, often assisted by the British MI6 foreign intelligence services. The CIA Director at that time was John Brennan. John Kerry replaced Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State in February 2013. The objective of such color revolutions is supposedly to spread the rule of democratic government.

Jamie Raskin and the Democrat Madhouse

Is Suppression of Faith, Family, and Truth a U.S. War Objective?
In my August 8 article on the extremely partisan U.S. House January 6 Committee, which bears a strong resemblance to Soviet show-trials and other kangaroo courts, I briefly reviewed the voting records of the seven Democrats and two Republicans. Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin is one of the most conspicuous Democrats. He is an almost perfect leftist. His American Conservative (ACU) rating is only 3 percent, and his Family Research Council (FRC) rating is only 5 percent. Like all the Democrat members of the committee, he has a 100 percent rating from Planned Parenthood. He frequently rants against the National Rifle Association (NRA) and believes their interpretation of the Second Amendment on gun rights is all wrong. Like all Maryland Democrats, he received an NRA rating of F for 2022. NumbersUSA gives him a zero or F- rating on immigration, which is also typical Maryland Democrats and other Democrats on the January 6 Committee. Raskin is also a very strong supporter of same-sex marriage, transgender ideology, and other Woke agendas. Raskin was a leading figure in attempts to impeach President Donald Trump.

The Russian Bear and the European Union Energy Crisis
- By Mike Scruggs

The Unhappy Legacies of the Biden Regime
Last year, the European Union (EU) got 40 percent of its natural gas needs from Russia. EU leader Germany also got about 40 percent of its gas needs from Russia. After the sanctions on Russian gas and the suspicious self-inflicted destruction of most of the capacity of the Nordstream 1 and Nordstream 2 pipelines connecting Russian natural gas to Germany, the Russians are now supplying only 9 percent of the EU’s natural gas. The EU has also been a fervent proponent of replacing carbon-based fuel with renewable green energy sources. Natural gas is an environmentally clean-burning fuel. Germany had all but phased out coal and nuclear power to pursue climate change ideology. In wiser times, this may someday be regarded as a classic case of enormous short-sighted stupidity. Climate ideology, which is about as scientific as the Salem Witch Trials, has demonized the future of fossil fuels without bothering any reasonable analysis. It may be ten, twenty, or even thirty years, or actually probably never before windmills, solar panels, and other green dreams can replace fossil fuels. Electricity is not an original natural resource. Meanwhile, technological advances in converting fossil fuels to energy may reduce energy related pollution and costs to considerably more livable levels.

The Crimean Bridge and Russian Missile Escalation
The Crimean Bridge, also called the Kerch Strait Bridge, connecting mainland Russia with the eastern edge of the Crimean Kerch Peninsula, is the longest bridge in Europe. It is really two parallel bridges, one for four-lane highway traffic and the other for two parallel railroad lines, stretching for 12 miles over the Kerch Strait of the Black Sea. The bridge, which cost $3.7 billion, was started in 2014. The road bridge was opened in 2018 and the rail bridge in December 2019. The project was initiated by Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin.

Reports as of October 6, 2022
Cautious Judgement Required
Once a week, both the Ukrainian General Staff and the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense publish the damage they have done to their adversaries in the Russia-Ukraine War since its beginning on February 24. The Russians give an approximately five-minute video briefing also detailing recent events, which give some clues about fighting and military activity not reported by Western media. The Ukrainians have forbidden journalists in Ukraine from reporting anything that contradicts Ukrainian General Staff information or reveals troop movements or engagements not appropriate for public release. Both the Ukrainian General Staff and the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense released their weekly reports on October 6. The Ukrainian report is usually reported by the Kyiv Independent daily, which you can subscribe to at no cost and receive by email.
