SALTY SEZ – Behold the Swamp
- By Ray Simmons
Some of our favorite conservative personalities sometime make a comment like; “I think most people out there are really good and want to do good.” But when we read the Scriptures that’s not what they tell us. It’s not scuttlebutt when the Bible tells us that most of us are pretty bad characters unless we have had the second-birth of coming to know Jesus. Even then we can be pretty bad if we aren’t careful, since we still have our fallen nature within us. I know personally that it’s quite easy to justify something if I want to participate badly enough. Later I’ll go back and apologize to the Lord and He’ll forgive me…sometimes over and over again. We often say, “I wish Adam hadn’t eaten that forbidden fruit,” but I expect I’d have taken a bite myself if I’d been in his position. We have to recognize that man’s (generic) nature is to sit on his own throne and live the way he thinks is to his advantage.
After all, Adam was told he would be like God if he’d just take a bite. Quite a temptation! Our Founding Fathers were a pretty wise group. They gave us a Constitution that provided a government sort of hemmed in by the Ten Commandments. They gave us three branches; the Legislative, the Executive and the Judicial, each of which was to be held in check by the other two and the American people. I’m afraid we – the American people – sort of missed the boat, we stopped paying attention to what was going on within the three branches; we started letting them ignore bits and pieces of the Constitution. Oh they always had good justifications for what they were doing, told us it was for our benefit (they always say that) -- and WE let them build the Swamp. President Trump has found it to be a little deeper than he thought it was. One thing the Swampees seem not to remember: they are usually the first the swamp devours.

SALTY SEZ – Your Vote!!
- By Ray Simmons
The most important vote since Abraham Lincoln will take place next Tuesday. We listen to the polls and hear the predictions as to who will win…no one knows…but God. We may have told Him too many times that we don’t want Him messing with our lives – then the Democrats win! Or maybe enough of us still honor Him – then He gives us one last chance and lets the Republicans and Trump win. Even if Trump wins we conservatives have to hold control in the Senate and take control in the House; if this happens we may have sufficient control to save our nation and put the Ship of State on smooth sailing. We have been sleeping much too long. We failed to listen to the wake-up calls we were given in the 1930s and following, and our Christian Pastors, for the most part, failed to serve as watchmen on the wall, essentially leaving us to be sheep without shepherds. They should have taken lessons from their Black-Robed Brother Pastors of the seventeen hundreds. I’m a pretty old salt and whichever turn the election takes won’t make much difference in my life, I’ll be counting the bells before long anyway. But if the election takes the wrong turn the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will never know the kind of freedoms and opportunities you and I have had. That great privilege will have ended. Whether you believe it or not this vote is a vote for good or a vote for evil, it is not just a political exercise that can be corrected next time if we happen to make a mistake. It will most likely be the last time you get to vote if you make that mistake. The Constitution the Left abhors will find its way to the “round file.” No more free speech, no more second amendment, no more free thinking. Welcome to Orwell’s 1984.

SALTY SEZ – Whose Pandemic?
- By Ray Simmons
Being one of the aged citizenry, I’ve been playing the PANDEMIC GAME kinda carefully; wearing a mask when I go out and trying not to get real close to my buddies, my neighbors, my friends – I been saying this is a planned operation since its start. A few days ago a friend sent me an e-mail proves I was right – also proves I wasn’t right enough! Seems there’s evidence out there indicating old COVID-19 should have been called COVID-15 or 16 since in 2015 a testing method for COVID-19 was patented by Richard Rothschild, with a Dutch government organization. And it seems like a bunch of testing-kits were sold in 2017 and 2018. The e-mail I got, with all its illustrations and documentations would be at least 20 or 30 pages. I. 0f course, haven’t been able to verify everything. I just think what I saw and read made good sense and seemed to fit together with what I already knew.

SALTY SEZ - Don't Believe The Lies
- By Ray Simmons
Back as early as 2006 I heard a pastor say we are in the condition we’re in because we have believed the LIE. I suspect most of you know about the lie Lucifer told Eve to get her to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. First thing, he suggested that God had not told them the truth about what would happen – then he lied and said they would become like God if they ate the fruit. Well, that was just a little more than she could stand and she took a bite, no harm in that. Then she had to convince Adam to try it or she would be out there all by herself. Adam couldn’t take that so he took a bite too. And that’s when all the world went bad.
Well, the lie hasn’t changed its approach much. If you don’t believe the Bible or think it’s just partly true, you will fall for any offer you think will benefit you. And when some good old honest-john congressman feeds you a line that he’s really working out a deal that can’t be beat you’ll latch on and give him your vote. Next election he hasn’t come through but he assures you he is still working it out and needs a little more time. He’s really a fine Joe and we vote him in again. Things get worse instead of better but we keep on electing good old honest-john Joe.
Then some late-bloomer comes along and gets elected when he’s not supposed to, and starts doing all the things he said he was gonna do. But old honest-john Joe says he’s doing them all wrong and we shouldn’t vote for him any-more, and he gets all the newspapers telling us a lot of bad things about the new guy. Things get all confused – how could he get all those good things done if he’s such a rascal? We kinda wonder why they don’t tell us why Joe didn’t get all those thing done while he was in there. Think maybe the newspapers and old honest-john Joe are telling us lies? That’s what I ‘spect.

SALTY SEZ - LISTEN! To what?
- By Ray Simmons
We seem to be a strange sort of people: one thing, we put a motto on our money saying “In God We Trust” then we start putting our trust in the money. Another thing; we create a Constitution saying “We The People” are the rulers of our country, then we elect people into a governmental system to guide us and wind up letting them tell us they rule over us—and we let them get away with it. Some folks say we aren’t supposed to question our rulers because Romans Chapter 13 in the Bible says so—but we are technically the rulers according to our Constitution and if those elected don’t lead us according to that Constitution, they are the ones not following the scripture. And now there’s a group in our leadership telling us we need to change our government to give them the power to do everything for us the way they want to do it. Lots of countries have tried this and they always end up worse off than they were—and lots of our people seem to think this is a good idea. The Scriptures tell us that we are destroyed because we fail to listen--that means we should listen to the Scriptures, not to the politicians or others who want to guide us down the wide road instead of the narrow path.
