Sea Turtle Stranding Season Begins for the South Carolina Aquarium
- By Press Release
Earth Month Brings Seven New Patients to the Aquarium
CHARLESTON, S.C. -- The South Carolina Aquarium has seen a significant uptick in admissions in the last couple of weeks, with seven sea turtle patients requiring medical attention in this short period of time.
“Our sea turtle stranding season has definitely started strong! These past two weeks have been a whirlwind, with seven sea turtles admitted in rapid succession and each needing individualized treatments and care,” says Sea Turtle Care Center™ manager Melissa Ranly. “It’s clear that sea turtles have arrived along the South Carolina coast and are facing some unforgiving impacts out there. And it’s fitting this is all happening during Earth Month, a poignant reminder on the intrinsic link between water, wildlife and wild places and our role in the world, too. We’re ready and waiting to welcome more sea turtles into our care and offer them all the support we can, and grateful for the community backing us every step of the way.”

Minority Report Reveals Federal Indian Policies Soaked in Critical Race Theory
- By Christian Newswire
WASHINGTON -- A minority report to the congressional 'Alyce Spotted Bear and Walter Soboleff Commission on Native Children' has been released, shedding light on the detrimental effects of current federal Indian policies on families of tribal heritage. The report, titled "Minority Report: Commission on Native Children," is a result of extensive research and testimonies from grassroots, individual Native Americans and their families across the country - not powerful entities that subsist on government funding.
The report highlights the existence of an "iron triangle" within federal Indian policy, which has allowed for the implementation of laws and policies that some report as controlling, oppressive, and unconstitutional to Native American families. These policies have had a devastating impact on the well-being of Native American children, leading to high rates of poverty, extreme neglect, physical and sexual abuse, substance abuse, and suicide within these communities.

Dr. Ben Carson Is Leading the Fight for America’s Strongest Asset–The Family
- By Christian Newswire
“We Are in a Battle For the Very Soul of Our Nation,” Says Carson
Carson’s New Book, The Perilous Fight, Offers Solutions to Reverse Negative Culture Trends
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Strong families are the cornerstone of strong communities that go on to build a stronger nation as a whole. Unfortunately, widespread divorce rates, the erosion of traditional marriage, the popular rise of radical ideologies, attacks on faith, and government interference in our daily lives are resulting in a breakdown of the family, robbing us of the country we love. Dr. Ben Carson says it doesn’t have to be this way. Recent polls show a large proportion of the country agree and are signaling a move back to conservative principles rooted in faith and family, of which Dr. Carson is a foremost proponent.
In his new book, The Perilous Fight: Overcoming Our Culture’s War on the American Family (Zondervan, May 14, 2024), one of the most influential conservative voices, Dr. Carson offers inspiration and action-packed answers needed to restore the family as America’s key foundation. Like many of us, Dr. Carson fears we are losing the country we love and encourages readers to return to the biblical and familial values on which our nation was founded.

An overlay is the addition of another area code (821) to the same geographic region served by an existing area code (864). An overlay does not require customers to change their existing area code but does require customers to dial the area code to complete local calls.
The rollout of this area code will begin in mid-2024 and, to prepare, 10-digit dialing will be introduced into the Upstate. The timeline follows:
