Public School Exit Takes Message to Mar-a-Lago

DEL MAR, Calif. -- America's leader in biblical worldview education, Public School Exit (PSE), is planning an event at the Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, where it will highlight its message on how the nation's K-12 public education system is failing our students.
Hollywood actress and education freedom advocate, Sam Sorbo, will moderate PSE's educational luncheon at Mar-a-Lago on March 21, 2024.
"We are absolutely thrilled that someone of Sam's stature has offered to be the moderator," comments Dran Reese, Chief Executive Officer of Public School Exit. "Sam sees how broken the institutional system is and wants to help us fix it."

BJU Seminary Holds CoRE Conference

BJU Seminary will hold its annual CoRe Conference Jan. 29-31 on the BJU campus.
The theme of the conference, “The Return of Hope: Dealing with Depression in the Church,” will explore the topic of depression and suicide, specifically how to counsel those struggling within the church. Breakout sessions will address forgiveness, despair, anxiety and handling losses biblically.

BJU Bruins Host 52nd High School Invitational Basketball Tournament

The Bob Jones University Bruins will host 10 schools for the 52nd annual High School Invitational Basketball Tournament Jan. 23-26 in the Davis Field House on the BJU campus.
The three-day tournament will feature teams from Bob Jones Academy (Greenville, South Carolina), Brooklane Baptist Academy (Hueytown, Alabama), Colonial Christian School (Indianapolis, Indiana), Grace Christian School (Huntingdon, West Virginia), Greenville Hurricanes (Greenville, South Carolina), Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee, Florida), Trinity Christian Academy (Deltona, Florida), Trinity Christian School (Greenville, North Carolina), Rock Springs Christian Academy (Milner, GA) and State Line Rush (Galax, Virginia).

BJU Students to Volunteer on MLK Day of Service

Bob Jones University students, faculty and staff will participate in the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service Monday, Jan. 15.
“In the spirit of the man it honors, MLK Day has been designated as a day for serving the community. BJU students are encouraged to “Reach Beyond Themselves” by assisting organizations around Greenville,” said Dr. Mark Vowels, director of the BJU Center for Global Opportunities. “Our student’s willingness to volunteer on a day off from class demonstrates their love and appreciation for our neighbors.”

BJU Division of Nursing Simulation Center Achieves Full Accreditation Status

The Bob Jones University Division of Nursing Simulation Center has been granted full accreditation status by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). Founded in 2004 by healthcare professionals, SSH is the largest healthcare simulation accrediting body in the world. The organization seeks to improve patient outcomes by reducing errors in care through the use of simulation in a variety of modalities.
BJU has the only stand-alone SSH accredited baccalaureate nursing program in South Carolina.

Major Grant Supports New Home for NGU Business Programs

A major grant from the Robert W. Plaster Foundation to North Greenville University’s capital campaign for the transformation of historic Donnan Administration Building will yield a new name for the home of the College of Business & Entrepreneurship, NGU President Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr., announced on January 5. The expanded and completely renovated 20,000-square-foot building will be named the Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center, housing the College of Business & Entrepreneurship, the Donald E. Ward Administrative Suite, and the Murphree. C. Donnan Commons, which preserves and articulates the legacy of NGU’s longest-serving president.

Willie Partin to Preach Opening Services At BJU Spring Semester

Willie Partin, director of camp relations for The Wilds Christian Camp and Conference Center in Brevard, North Carolina, will preach the opening services of Bob Jones University’s spring semester. Services will be held Jan. 9-10, 2024, at 7 p.m. in Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium.
Partin graduated from BJU with a BA in youth ministries in 2003. He earned an MA in biblical counseling from BJU Seminary in December 2023.
