To be named to the Dean's List, a student must maintain a 3.5 grade point average or higher for the semester. The University congratulates its students for their exemplary academic achievement.

NGU Appoints Thomas as Vice President for Campus Ministries and Student Engagement

North Greenville University (NGU) has named Dr. Jared Thomas Vice President for Campus Ministries and Student Engagement, NGU President Dr. Gene C. Fant, Jr., announced at this morning’s summer meeting of the university’s Board of Trustees. The appointment is effective July 1.
“Dr. Thomas brings unusual experiences to this important role at the university. He is an alum, he holds a doctorate in counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, he is deeply involved in leadership in his local church, and he loves students,” said President Fant. “We are excited to see how God’s preparation for his calling cultivates his leadership of this team that is integral to the equipping of transformational leaders for church and society.”

Hollingsworth Receives NGU's Hemphill Award for Denominational Service

Dr. Gary Hollingsworth, recently retired executive director-treasurer of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, received the Paula and Ken Hemphill Denominational Service Award from North Greenville University (NGU) during the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting.
The long-time Baptist pastor and leader was honored during NGU’s alumni and friends dinner on June 13 in New Orleans, LA. More than 140 people attended the event at Mulate’s Original Cajun Restaurant.

NGU Hosts Upstate Homeschool Expo

From robotics coding to ballet demonstrations, the 2023 Upstate Homeschool Expo had something for everyone.
More than 1,000 students and parents attended the Homeschool Community of the Upstate event, hosted by North Greenville University (NGU), in June.
“We love seeing the homeschool community enthusiastically engaging with our local homeschool educational resources,” said Carrie Knepper, board co-chair for the Homeschool Community of the Upstate. “It’s not every day that they get to talk to staff from these organizations in person and make those connections.

Christian College Cancels Promise Keepers Event Over Stance on Biblical Marriage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Belmont University, a private Christian college in Nashville, announced last week it had canceled an event to be hosted by Promise Keepers after the men's ministry released a statement reaffirming its support for the Biblical, biological, sexual identity of male and female, man and woman, in the context of marriage.
Belmont representatives cited a conflict in values.
Promise Keepers is hosting a series of events this year, titled "Daring Faith." Events are scheduled for Houston, Memphis and New York City, with additional stops in other cities across the country. Among these stops was Belmont University.

BJU Symphony Orchestra to Tour Italy

The Bob Jones University Symphony Orchestra will embark on a two-week tour of Italy, June 19 - July 2, 2023. The tour will include stops in Rome, Florence, Venice, Cremona, and Milan where the orchestra will perform as part of the Cremona Summer Music Festival, an orchestra festival in Florence, and the American Celebration of Music in Italy concert series.
“Cremona is such a beautiful city with a rich musical history, so it was a special honor to be invited by the city to participate in their summer festival,” said Dr. Michael Moore, conductor of the orchestra. “And we’re thrilled that our students will have the opportunity to share their artistry for the glory of God as they perform in several other incredible venues throughout Italy as well.”

Technical College of the Lowcountry and North Greenville University Announce Transfer Agreement

Officials with the Technical College of the Lowcountry (TCL) and North Greenville University (NGU) have signed an articulation agreement that enables TCL’s early care and education students interested in furthering their education to seamlessly transfer to NGU.
The agreement, signed on June 6, enables TCL students who have completed the college’s Associate of Applied Science in Early Care and Education degree program to easily transfer into NGU’s online Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Educational Studies program.
