It is the solemn duty of every lover of truth to oppose error, and especially, as in the present case, to oppose error that is, in its effects, catastrophically anti-human and destructive, no matter how widespread and popular and deeply entrenched the error may be. It is the especial task of the true, Christian philosopher, or lover of wisdom, to expose and to refute the false philosophical foundation of such error. In performance of such duty, I now proceed.

Women have suffered more and lost more at the hands of liberal-egalitarian-atheist modernity than any other portion of humanity.
Colossal in scale and in social and personal consequences, this suffering and loss, by every rational metric of human spiritual flourishing, has transpired, in the last two centuries, just as women have been told continuously that they are achieving ever greater personal freedom, self-actualization, and fulfillment. This deception of women, perpetrated by the purveyors of false (egalitarian) philosophy, both male and female, has been overshadowed in human history only by the original and de-formative deception of Eve by Satan in Eden (Genesis 3:1-6).
Modern communistic liberalism, both by design and by natural trajectory, and by regressive and corrosive processes of mutual alienation, atomization, and deracination, has reduced women, men, and the family to spiritual tatters. Gone are the days of living in social harmony and cohesion, in the West, within spiritual guardian hands of evolved custom and tradition suffused and progressively methodized and corrected by revealed Christian ethic. As social ideals, Christian love of God and neighbor have been supplanted by the atheist-materialist Hobbesian-Machiavellian credo of “every man (or woman) for himself, and devil take the hindmost."
The blame for woman’s latter-day deception by the siren call of modern egalitarian liberalism is partly, of course, her own, through her sinful pride and shallow credulity; but ultimately, the blame for woman’s deception, with all its fell attendant consequences, is mostly man’s, whose God-ordained duties include both the physical and spiritual protection of woman, the weaker vessel (1 Peter 3:7).
Man’s sinful mistreatment of woman, by both neglect and active abuse, have together formed both rational and emotional grounds for feminine discontent and rebellion. In this way, misogyny has played no small part in generating the fatal ideological reaction that is misanthropic and suicidal feminism. And so, in vicious cycle, the original damage done by man’s neglect and misogyny is compounded by reactive liberal-communistic feminism, which teaches women to spurn men, the only natural protectors her sex has ever found.
In human history, only Christianity has elevated woman to her high and noble and rightful status, one where she has the best chance of achieving full-actualization of her natural created potential, or of becoming, as the ancient Greeks taught, eudaimon. But a modern world possessed by and intoxicated with false egalitarian philosophy is impatient with all government that involves hierarchy and subordination, as Biblical marriage does (Genesis 3:16), even when these inegalitarian forms fully and faithfully serve the true interests of the governed. So modernity, in its destructive egalitarian mania, cannot tolerate the thoroughly Biblical and thoroughly humane and benevolent notions and realities of woman in the home, as quiet and gentle and fundamentally contented helpmate of man.
Woman as mother (Genesis 3:20), as man’s helpmate (Genesis 2:21-25; 1 Corinthians 11:8), as obedient to her own husband (Titus 2:5), as bearer of children (1 Timothy 5:14), and as keeper of the home at home (Titus 2: 5, Proverbs 31) are anathema to the Marxian communism that hates and seeks to eradicate all family, and to the Gramscian communism that seeks to destroy all civilization worthy of the name by inundation with immoral filth.
The current pandemic of homosexuality and transgenderism, Providentially understood, is the Lord’s giving over the minds of modern reprobate men and women to further sin and self-destruction (Romans 1:20-32). Not unlike Noah, in floating atop this flood of depravity, a remnant of true Christian men and women, by God’s grace alone, remain faithful and heterosexual and virtuous in a lost and perverse generation.
Today, in America, anti-Christ feminist rebellion against God is now reaching its highwater mark. The folly of women voting, inaugurated just over a century ago, has now culminated in the spectacular catastrophe that is women in political office. Only the deep political philosopher, seeing through and beyond the dust and den of particular historical events, descries the fundamental causal connection between this supposed “rise” and “liberation” of women and the speedy decline of American society and of Western civilization and of woman herself.
In America, corrupt party politics and powerful demagogues – not a sense of equity and fairness -- have led the way in elevating both the Negro and the woman to suffrage. Thus have the corrupt and powerful, to sustain themselves in office, manufactured new classes of voters and of tax-consuming dependents. And by inexorable stages, of course, the effects of this party corruption have proved cancerous and ultimately fatal for America, both morally and physically.
Diagnosing this cancer in its earlier stages, the great theologian Robert Lewis Dabney (1820-1898) prophesied that women would receive “the precious boon of their enfranchisement only by means of the overthrow of the Bible.” Foreseeing the loud and obnoxious (and typically unhygienic and unprepossessing) modern lesbian-feminist jezebels under our current atheist government, Dabney said “that most abhorrent of all phenomena” is “an infidel woman.”
And of woman politicians, Dabney presciently remarked, “The politicating woman, unsexed and denaturalized , shorn of the true glory of her femininity, will appear to men as a feeble hybrid mannikin, with all the defects and none of the strength of the male. Instead of being the dear object of his chivalrous affection, she becomes his importunate rival, despised without being feared.”
Able to view women clearly and honestly and objectively – and above all, apart from generations of egalitarian public-school brainwashing – Dabney saw that women, as compared with men, “are naturally more emotional and less calculating, more impulsive and less self-contained, that they have a quicker tact but less logic, [and] that their social nature makes them more liable to the contagion of epidemic passions.” In no way depreciating woman, but rightly seeing her as the Divinely-created complement of man, Dabney observed that “nature has adapted her to one thing and disqualified her for the other.” A truly Christian man whose thinking was free of egalitarian indoctrination, Dabney thought and spoke about women as the legions of castrato “conservatives” of our day never would or could.
In America, by replacing the Bible system with the infidel plan, we have corrupted our women without improving our politics. And, as if foreseeing, with stunning clarity and probity, our abysmal social and moral condition in 2024, Dabney, identifying one salient deeper cause, predicted that “when America has had a generation of women who were politicians, instead of mothers, how fundamental must be the destruction of society, and how distant and difficult must be the remedy.”
