PLEASE NOTE—IMPORTANT DETAIL: do not take this flier to the polls. By law, you may take only a list of names and offices to the polling site.
- For candidates already in an office, I have been able to check voting records. My comments reflect their voting records over the course of their tenure.
- For those who have never run for office before, and who claim a position, I will state their claim, but understand I have nothing by which to verify that claim.
- Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A photo ID is required to vote in South Carolina.
I usually don't post something at the front of my election paper, but I feel this year needs to have some additional information talked about. If you notice as you go through the races, you will see that I might say I endorse and will vote for someone, or I might say I would Vote for …. Sometimes the person on the ticket on the GOP side is not someone I want to vote for, well in the past I have written a name in or just abstained and let the majority make the decision and choose not to vote in that Race.
In the past couple of papers I have written there will come a time where those of us who cherish freedoms and liberties (whether you are Constitution, Libertarian, and even some Democrats, of the JFK variety) will have to choose between our/your party we like to support (I will even say candidates we like and don’t dislike) and our future freedoms and Liberties. Those times are rapidly approaching, if not now upon us. Now that the Democrat party has decided they can no longer sell their own ideas to the general public and win, they have decided to let the Socialists bring in their ideas to fire up their base and try and win the debate. We will have hard choices ahead of us to stop that alliance of the Democrats and the Socialists from winning elections.
For this reason, I cannot support any candidate that might allow the Democrats to win the seats of Power, especially Federal and State wide elections. If you look at the section at the end in the “About the Author” you will find point four of why I support the people I do, the 4th point reads as follows “His fourth issue is the defense of capitalism and the defeat of Socialism/Marxism/Fascism, along with the protection of private property rights.” That has been there for 25 years, I never believed that point would move up from point 4 to a higher number but it is. With the Socialist Mayor of NY City winning, and the Democrat voters clambering for more so they can elect them, We must face a reality, that the current Democrat party is not the same party as in 1980’s, or 1990’s, or even in 2000’s.
Let me prove my point, Dr. Andrews (who is not a Socialist–she has said so and I believe her), when asked if the Democrat Party is big enough for the DSA, answered something like this: Yes the Democratic Party is a big enough tent to welcome the socialists in our party. Let me interpret that for you–when the Socialists make a play for the leadership of the party in congress and at the party, she is not going to fight them in that power play. She will bend the knee and kiss the ring and allow the Socialist to rule the party and maybe the country). They will have enough of the voters and they will take power. That is how the Socialist have always done it.
Also you have been hearing from some quarters that you should do a write-in campaign and teach a candidate and the establishment a lesson, and fix it in 6 years. For starters there are a LOT of assumptions in that statement “that we will fix it in 6 years”. For those making those claims, I will openly state you cannot with certainty guarantee that statement; and if you are making it, you are essentially lying to voters because you cannot keep that promise. Those same statements were made in GA 6 years ago, Jon Ossoff was elected, and he will most likely win reelection. I hope I'm wrong on that but I have not seen a poll where he is losing.
Lastly, there is a man named Hasan Piker who is the biggest cheerleader for the DSA. He is a self admitted Marxist/Maoist, meaning he follows what Mao did in China. He is recorded on a podcast that he wants to bring Mao’s cultural revolution to the Democrat Party. I would assume this is so that the Socialists can take power in the Democrat party. Let me ask you this, if that happens, will those atrocities and tactics stay in the party after they take power, or migrate into the general governance of the country? When socialists tell you who they are and what they want to do, believe them. They have been doing this over and over, and their apologists always say, “this time it will be different.” No it won't; that is history, and factual.
US SENATE
Darline Graham Nordone INCUMBENT GOP https://www.darlinegraham.com
She is Lindsay Graham’s sister who was appointed to the seat by Gov. McMaster to finish out Sen. Graham's term after he passed away. She has received President Trump’s endorsement, both for the appointment and for the full Senate seat. She has said she will vote for the Save Act, and to eliminate the filibuster, and will push for the Sanctions bill (on Iran and Russia) that her brother supported. She has been endorsed by the Susan B Anthony foundation, and the National Right to Life She is running on conservative issues, but since she has such a thin voting record there is very little to prove her conservative record. Regardless, she is running as a more conservative candidate than her brother did.
. Annie Andrews Dem https://drannieandrews.com/ She is/was a pediatrician, I know she used to work at MUSC, but that ended a few years ago(according to news reports, she was fired after she came out against the bills that Gov McMaster signed not allowing minor trans Surgeries.) There are lots of quotes out there on X when she came out against the Save Women's Sports bill (kept biological males out of girl’s or women's sports). She has worked for Moms Demand Action, Bloomburg’s gun control org. At the debate she said she supports the 2nd amendment, but her work for a gun control organization and her public statements prove otherwise, so much so that she got an F from the NRA. Endorsed by Brady PAC, Everytown for Gun Safety, and Gun Sense Voter, I don't think she missed an anti-gun group. She has been endorsed by NARAL and Planned Parenthood. Endorsed by Feminist Majority PAC, Jane Fonda Climate PAC, Justice Opportunity Liberty Politico (JOLPOL), and SC Education Association. I have seen statements that she is in favor of abortion until birth, but she has been making statements for 24 weeks now. I suspect the first position is really where she’s at, but needed to moderate to get Upstate votes in a statewide race. Most of her more liberal and strident opinions came when she was running for Congress in the 1st District a few years ago.
There are two others running, (Mark Hackett - Constitution Party), and (Kasie Whitener- Libertarian) and a write in campaign running that have no shot at winning.
Evert: I know there are people encouraging a write-in in the race, I cannot in good conscience give you
advice or recommend that you do anything to allow a Democrat to win any Federal or Statewide race. It would be a violation of the trust many of you have placed in my research. I will tell you, that while it would be easy and feel good to follow that lead for a season, where we are as a country we do not have that Liberty to be that cavalier any longer. To protect our liberty and freedoms we have to make the hard choices and do things we don’t like.
I will casting my vote for Darline Graham.
4TH CONGRESSIONAL

Secretary of State
Mark Hammond INCUMBENT GOP https://www.facebook.com/SecretaryOfStateMarkHammond/
He has modernized the office from when he first took over and he has been a watch dog over charitable organizations, making sure that they are actually funding the causes they say they fund. In the past he has received. He has been a good administrator over the last few years. I see no reason to make a change.
Jason Belton Dem https://jasonbeltonforsc.com/
(I pulled the Items in Quotes straight from his website) “Jason Belton is a dedicated public servant with a strong track record of advocating for labor rights, community empowerment, and social justice. He serves as the Vice President of the Greater Columbia Central Labor Council, where he works tirelessly to represent the interests of local unions and promote fair labor practices throughout South Carolina.”
He has stated in multiple places that his main objective is to bring election integrity to the state by getting elected to the Secretary of State. In SC the Secretary of State has no dealings with the election process, under state law that is done by the State Election Board and the head of that board, cannot be an elected official or had been elected to an office in the last year or so. Mr Belton wants to change that. He has raised about 10K.
Evert: I endorse and will vote for Mark Hammond
State Treasurer
Curtis M. Loftis Jr. INCUMBENT GOP
The Treasurer is responsible for handling the state’s monies that are collected via taxes and other sources, he also handles the pension funds for state employees. Former businessman. Part of the reformist coalition on the State Budget and Control Board (which is more powerful than the Gov.’s office). Social and fiscal conservative. Attorney General
David Stumbo GOP https://votestumbo.com/
(I pulled the Items in Quotes straight from his website)
“David Stumbo was elected as Solicitor for the Eighth Judicial Circuit of South Carolina (Abbeville, Greenwood, Laurens, and Newberry counties) in November 2012 and is currently serving his fourth term as Solicitor. A proven conservative leader and career prosecutor with over 20 years of experience, Stumbo has built a reputation for putting violent criminals, drug dealers, and sex offenders behind bars while fighting for justice on behalf of victims and their families.
Now, Stumbo is running for Attorney General of South Carolina, offering voters a clear choice: a tested, conservative prosecutor committed to enforcing the law, defending the Constitution, and protecting the people of this state…Prior to being elected as Circuit Solicitor, David served as supervising prosecutor for the Statewide Grand Jury and Criminal Prosecution Divisions in the South Carolina Attorney General's Office from 2011-2012. From 2007-2011, he worked in the 11th Judicial Circuit (Lexington) under Solicitor Donnie Myers, where he successfully prosecuted violent crimes, sexual assaults, child abuse, narcotics, domestic violence, and felony DUI cases.” He has a lot of prosecutors (solicitors) and sheriffs supporting him, Greenville County Sheriff Hobart Lewis, State Senators - Richard Cash, Tom Corbin, and Danny Verdin have all endorsed him. Endorsed by NRA with an AQ, SC LIFE PAC, SC FOP, National Association for Gun Rights.
Richard Hricik Dem https://richardforattorneygeneral.com/
His story is a great one, parents were immigrants to Ellis Island, he worked his way to go to college, was the first person to graduate from college and law school. Got married and moved to charleston, I am not sure if he taught or started a law firm or both at the same time that part of the bio got confusing. In looking at his donation record its very liberal, Obama, Jon Ossoff, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton.
Evert: I endorse and will be voting for David Stumbo.
Comptroller General
Mike Burkhold GOP https://www.burkhold.net/
(I pulled the Items in Quotes straight from his website) “I'm a lifelong South Carolinian, raised in Chapin. My wife and I have been married thirty years and raised two children here. We're members of St. Andrew's Church, we live on Sullivan's Island, and I hold to the conservative values I was brought up on I'm a College of Charleston graduate. In 2009 I started a company called Equiscript from my living room. The work was unglamorous and exact: tracking millions of healthcare transactions and making sure every one of them added up….Fifteen years of that work taught me one thing. Money tells the truth when somebody keeps an honest count of it, and it goes missing when nobody does. That is the whole reason I'm running for Comptroller General. In 2023 the state had to restate its books by $3.5 billion. The office that was supposed to be keeping the count wasn't, and the system was built so that no one paid a price for it.” He is running as a businessman not a politician, and just from watching his videos, he has a talent to make some of the complicated boring numbers seem simple, which is a real talent. He wants to expose the budget by building transparency tools for the public, be a watchdog and scrutinize the expenses, and to be a taxpayer advocate.
Tiffany Boozer Dem https://boozerforsc.com/
From her website she has a degree in accounting, and a masters in accounting, and she has been a practicing CPA for 15 years, it looks like as an auditor. Graduated from BJU, then went to work for then-Congressman Jim DeMint. She has served as the Superintendent for the last 4 years and has had a strong advocate for parental rights. Strong Pro-Life views. Believes the state superintendent should be an advocate for parental rights, student learning of critical thinking in core areas, allowing teachers to exercise authority within the classroom, and to protect SC students and teachers from federal overreach and the forced imposition of world politics, CRT, transgenderism, vaccine mandates, and progressive politics. “Since taking office in 2023 as South Carolina’s 19th State Superintendent of Education, she has delivered on the promises she made to students, teachers, and parents—raising pay and securing paid parental leave for teachers, launching bold literacy and math reforms, expanding education choice, and cutting red tape so teachers can focus on teaching.” She has been an advocate for parents and students, as well as balancing the needs of the teachers that lead in the classroom Reading levels in the 3rd grade are up, as well as training for Teachers in Reading and a salary increase. She is one of the few Reformers who have been elected to this office, which the State Teachers union has not liked. It is very clear from her website she is the chosen candidate of the State Teachers Union, she has all the advanced degrees and has followed the State Teachers Unions protocols like a dutiful apparatchik waiting dutifully to be told its their turn to run the system so that the status quo will revert back to the unions thinking and direction, not any outsiders ideas on reforms. Benton Blount – INCUMBENT GOP www.bentonblount.com
(I pulled the below info from what I wrote two years ago when he ran for county council.) A country music star who had moved to Nashville, but after visiting Greenville for concerts, liked the area so much he moved here. You probably see on his signs “Make District 19 Great Again”—this comes from a true Trump-supporter—he tweeted his support for Trump and was promptly let go from his music contract in an absolute violation of his freedom of speech. In fact, the 3 issues he lists on his website are freedom of speech, 2nd Amendment rights, and Less is More (referring to a limited government). His local agenda includes being a community servant, Trust through transparency, infrastructure first, and supporting generational businesses. Calm Consistent Leadership, is his slogan. He is currently the Chairman of the county council. I believe he is still staying true to his initial mission, to serve the citizens of the county and be transparent.
Cody Dean https://codydean.us/
(I pulled the Items in Quotes straight from his website) “Cody Dean has called Travelers Rest home for years and knows this community inside and out. Born in New Mexico and raised partly in Florida, he chose the Upstate because it's where he planted roots and built his life. He believes local government works best when it's transparent, accountable, and driven by the needs of real people — not party politics or outside interests. District 19 deserves a voice that shows up and works for every resident.”
Evert: In my opinion I would not replace Mr. Blount, he is doing a great job representing those of us in
Greenville, He has served as a very transparent councilman, he has regular meetings in the community and has a newsletter he sends out.
I fully endorse and would happily vote for Benton Blount.
GREENVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL DIST #26 - Daniel Rumfelt GOP Unopposed
GREENVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL DIST #28
Kyle Long https://longfordistrict28.com/
(I pulled the Items in Quotes straight from his website) “Lt. Col. Kyle Long (Ret.) has dedicated his life to serving our nation and community. With a career marked by honor and integrity, he now turns his focus to Greenville County. A staunch advocate for conservative principles, Kyle is committed to lowering taxes, supporting law enforcement, and ensuring smart growth for our county. His military service has instilled a deep sense of duty and leadership, qualities he brings to his campaign for District 28. Join Kyle in his mission to put families first and uphold the values that make our community strong.”
Thomas Sanders https://www.sandersforcountycouncil.com/
Why hes running from, his website. “I’ve called Mauldin and Simpsonville home for over 40 years. I grew up here, raised my family here, and for the last 26 years, I’ve run a technology consulting business serving the Upstate. In my career, people hire me to fix their tech problems. I’m running for County Council to bring that same practical, "fix-it" mindset to local government. Our community is growing, but we need to manage that growth responsibly, specifically when it comes to our roads, traffic, and long-term planning.”
I would endorse and vote for Kyle Long.

Greenville County School Board #18
Rebecca L. McLaughlin www.votebeckym.com
This is a quote from her website “With over 30 years of public school teaching experience, 10 years as a small business owner, and 5 years as a Christian school administrator, I bring a unique, practical perspective to the school board. My background bridges hands-on classroom instruction, fiscal responsibility, and strong educational leadership. I am running for the school board to combine the time-tested values of proven educational success with innovative strategies for tomorrow. Together, we can address today's challenges and build a stronger, brighter future for our students, teachers, and community.”
Ann Middleton INCUMBENT https://annmarie4schoolboard.com/
Originally from Massachusetts, has been a teacher and worked for the FBI.She taught the sciences both locally and in Massachusetts. She did not attend the forum that I went to. Her website really gives only biographical information and her resume. Some of the verbiage on her website makes me wonder where her politics lie. One of her potential constituents spoke with her about gender identity and CRT and she stated she didn’t know where she stood on those issues. Endorsed by the Greenville County Education Association(which is the local branch of the NEA Teachers Union).
Because Becky McLaughlin is associated with Jeff Davis there are many in the conservative movement who are weary of her because of that alignment. I understand that concern, but I would rather have a conservative I can agree with 50% of the time than a liberal who I will never agree with on the approach of education. She is the conservative in the race, if she becomes a problem like Jeff Davis we can just let nature take its course and the left will win back this seat in 4 years.
Evert: I would vote for Rebecca McLaughlin.
Greenville county School board # 20
Robert Giles https://www.facebook.com/RobGilesforGreenvilleCountySchools/
17 years teaching in public, private and charter schools, a TR social studies teacher. The following is from his FB post announcing his run for office, “I’m excited (and a little nervous) to share that I am running for the Greenville County School Board. I am a believer, a husband, a father, and a classroom teacher with more than 15 years of experience. I’ve spent my career in the trenches with students and fellow educators, and I’ve seen firsthand what works—and what doesn’t. One of the biggest problems I see is a school district budget that keeps growing larger every year while teachers and students in the classroom aren’t seeing the benefits. Too much money is being absorbed by administrative operations and bureaucracy instead of reaching the people who need it most: the teachers standing in front of our kids every day and the students sitting in those desks. I believe every dollar should be treated with respect. Taxpayer money should strengthen classrooms—smaller class sizes, better resources, competitive pay that keeps great teachers in Greenville County, and real support for student learning. Not more layers of administration. I’m running because I want to bring a teacher’s perspective, a parent’s heart, and a commitment to fiscal responsibility to the board. Our kids deserve better prioritization of resources, and our teachers deserve to be treated as the most important investment we make. I would be honored to have your support. Please share this post, follow along as I share more about my vision, and let’s work together to put classrooms first again.”
Endorsed by SC Patriot Parents for Education. He has a lot of conservative endorsements and has been at events for Wilson for Governor and Ellen Weaver for Sup of Ed.
Chuck Saylors (INCUMBENT) www.chucksaylors.com
Has lived in Greenville County his whole life. Has been on the school board since 2002. Believes in community service. In 2009 he was the first man to serve as national president of the PTA. He has been part of the education establishment on both the local and national levels. He was on the school board when it voted to go around state law to create the B.E.S.T. organization that allowed the district to build capital buildings despite the voters rejecting that bond issue. He voted in favor of and was on the board of B.E.S.T. The state eventually outlawed this specific end-run around bond referendums and state law. He has fought against school choice for a very long time, and in the past he has voted in favor of every single tax hike that the district was allowed to make until the state stripped that ability from them. Endorsed by Dick Riley, Former Dem SC Gov, and Us Secretary of Education for Bill Clinton
Bennie R. Cantrell He has dropped out of the race.
Evert: I endorse and would vote for Robert Giles.

Lynda Leventis-Wells (INCUMBENT) lyndaleventiswells.com
She has been a teacher and someone in law enforcement. “My background in education and law enforcement uniquely positions SC kids to be SAFE while they LEARN (instead of being indoctrinated, fearful and at risk). Here in South Carolina, we want our kids to learn the basics of a solid education, then grow into America-loving critical thinkers. My policies will protect those values.” She is part of the small conservative minority on school board, moderate in some issues. Endorsed by SC Patriot Parents for Education.
Leslie Fatum www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61589004865660
She is currently elected as the secretary of the Greenville County Democrat party, so her perspective on school issues are quite liberal. “protecting our schools from political interference — things like censorship, book bans and vouchers for private education.” The following is not a direct quote, but it is the essence of an answer to the SC patriot parents questionnaire, Parents should not be the primary decision makers regarding their children's education, they can express their wishes about their child but the school doesn't have to abide by their wishes.
Evert: I would vote for Lynda Leventis-Wells. She is the most conservative candidate.

Amanda Brett INCUMBENT https://www.instagram.com/Amandafor26/
She is a current Conservative school board member. Because of that she catches a lot of heat from the current establishment educator elite and current majority on School board. She is the mother of two boys, she is against sexually explicit books being available to minors and believes boys’ sports should be played by boys and girls’ sports by girls. She has been a advocate for the conservative view point, and for that the establishment very much dislikes her. Endorsed by SC Patriot Parents for Education.
Stephanie Meek stephaniemeekforeducation.com
Former teacher and District administrator for Greenville County school system. Very much of the approved establishment educators mindset. Endorsed by the Greenville County Education Association(which is the local branch of the NEA Teachers Union).

GREENVILLE COUNTY SOIL AND WATER
Mike Stewart This office allows you to vote for two people. Mike Stewart and Christopher Hall are both on the ballot. I do not see a reason not to reelect both of these men.
There are multiple Questions on the Ballot, and can be more in some of the cities. I believe Greenville, Mauldin, Simpsonville and Travelers Rest all have a penny tax question on the ballot.
There is a county wide penny gas tax on the ballot as well. I will post the countywide question and give my opinion on them. Generally Greenville county does have a problem with the roads, I am very hesitant to vote yes for any of them. For starters the county and the cities have the vote the same year and we could end up with 2 extra taxes if you live in one of the cities. Also, on the countywide question, the final list has not been approved, and won’t be before the election. Right now I'm a NO on all of the tax questions. Council needs to have a better list and a final list before we vote and try again next year.
Greenville County Question 1
I approve a special sales and use tax in the amount of one percent to be imposed in Greenville County for not more than eight (8) years, or until a total of $1,100,000,000 in resulting revenue has been collected, whichever occurs first. The sales tax proceeds will be used to fund the following projects: Project (1) For financing the costs of highways, roads, streets, bridges, and other transportation-related projects facilities, and drainage facilities related thereto. $990,000,000 Project (2) For financing the costs of mass transit systems operated by Greenville County or jointly operated by the County and other governmental entities. Mass transit is to include but not be limited to the operation and expansion of the mass transit system as defined by Greenville Transit Authority's Transit Development Plan including improved frequency and enhanced routes. $33,000,000 Project (3) For financing the costs of greenbelts. To the extent permitted by the Act, greenbelts are to include but not be limited to acquiring land and conservation easements for the following: expanding public parks and green spaces, lands for active sports fields, securing water access points, expanding trails and greenways, protecting lands critical to wildlife, floodwater management, working farms and forests, natural resource management, historic preservation and protecting drinking water sources and water quality in rivers, lakes, wetlands, and other water bodies. $77,000,000 Instructions to Voters: All qualified electors desiring to vote in favor of levying the special sales and use tax shall vote "YES" and all qualified electors opposed to levying the special sales and use tax shall vote "NO.
Evert: Right now I'm a no.
Greenville County Question 2
I approve the issuance of not exceeding $150,000,000 of general obligation bonds of Greenville County, payable from the special sales and use tax described in Question 1 above, maturing over a period not to exceed eight (8) years, to fund completion of projects from among the categories described in Question 1 above. Instructions to Voters: All qualified electors desiring to vote in favor of the issuance of bonds for the stated purposes shall vote "YES;" and all qualified electors opposed to the issuance of bonds for the stated purposes shall vote "NO."
Evert: If I vote no on the first question I would assume I need to vote no on this question, I don’t know
what happens if one passes and the other fails.
About the Author, Evert Headley
Evert has been involved with politics since 1989, both at state and local levels. He considers himself to be a Reagan conservative (conservative on social, economic, and national security issues). His first issue is always the Right to Life (without that right, which is endowed by our Creator, none of the other rights even exists). His second issue is always the Second Amendment (the right to bear arms) because this right guarantees the ability of individuals and states to defend the other rights. His third issue is always the First Amendment (freedom of religion, speech and assembly). His fourth issue is the defense of capitalism and the defeat of Socialism/Marxism/Fascism, along with the protection of private property rights. On the national level, we are printing too much money, spending too much money, and borrowing too much money. The federal government is trying to usurp and infringe upon the rights reserved to the states and to the individuals.
