Tigerville, SC – LTC Gregory Scrivens, NGU’s Professor of Military Science, awarded a three-year $46,530 Army ROTC scholarship to Joseph Denton from Moncks Corner during halftime at Military Appreciation Day at the Crusaders final home football game on Saturday, November 15.

Denton completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as a Combat Engineer this past summer.

The Army ROTC scholarship pays one hundred percent of tuition or up to $10,000 in room and board. In addition, scholarship students are awarded $600 a semester for books and a monthly stipend that ranges from $300-$500 a month during the school year.

Cadet Command also awarded three Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty Scholarships that will start in January 2015.  These NGU students are: Henry Privette from North Wilkesboro, NC, was conditionally awarded a two and a half scholarship worth $38,775, Robert McCoy from Simpsonville was conditionally awarded a two-year scholarship worth $31,020, and Brandon Misamore from Easley was conditionally awarded a two-year scholarship worth $31,020.
