INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

Nikki-Haley---Matthew-Hayduk

Governor Nikki Haley was greeted by a standing ovation and thunderous applause by over one thousand conservative citizens from across the United States as she took the stage at the annual Heritage Foundation President's Club Meeting.

Haley spoke briefly about her political career in South Carolina and her election to Governor.  She advocated for more business people in government and reiterated that government has to run like a business.

Haley identified herself as a "conservative reformer" and said that the key to her success was to educate people about how government affects their lives.

During the question and answer session when asked about electability and race/gender issues in the south by a member of the crowd Haley said candidly, "I think we are past that, I am proof of that".

Haley answered a variety of questions and the crowd sprang to their feet to applaud her departure from the stage.
