After months of promising that his administration would not mandate COVID-19 vaccines, President Joe Biden has changed course. Earlier this month, the president issued an executive order requiring millions of federal employees to either get the vaccine, get tested weekly, or face dismissal from their job. Shortly after the executive order, the president handed down another mandate, requiring all employers with more than 100 employees to mandate their workers be vaccinated or submit to weekly testing. Businesses that do not comply with the rule can be fined up to $14,000 per violation. The new regulation is supposed to be drafted and implemented by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) of the U.S. Department of Labor.

EXPORT, Penn. -- Because of COVID-19, more than three out of every four evangelical Protestants in the US have experienced watching church online instead of attending in-person. More important is that going forward, the majority who did, now want to make online viewing part of their normal church experience.

These findings come from the new report, The Ripple Effect: Congregations, COVID, and the Future of Church Life, from Infinity Concepts and Grey Matter Research. The study, which included over 1,000 American Evangelical Protestants, examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on church attendance and attitudes about the experience. Most notably, the study explores how evangelicals want to attend church in the future.

In Afghanistan, children watching SAT-7's live TV shows ask: 'Is Jesus in the studio?'

AFGHANISTAN: 'CHRISTIAN TALIBAN' ASK TO 'MEET JESUS:' Despite the threat of persecution,, Afghans are turning to Christianity in growing numbers -- and creating a wave of "Christian Taliban," satellite television and online media ministry SAT-7 (www.sat7usa.org) reports. Viewers -- eager to meet Jesus -- are asking: "Is Jesus in the studio?"

EASTON, Md. -- Despite the threat of persecution, Afghans are turning to Christianity in growing numbers -- and creating a wave of "Christian Taliban," a ministry to Afghanistan reports.

"The word 'Taliban' actually means 'student,'" said Dr. Rex Rogers, president of Christian media ministry SAT-7 USA (www.sat7usa.org), "and right now increasing numbers of Afghans are becoming 'Taliban of Jesus' -- that is, students of Christ."

The ministry's Christian satellite television and online programs -- presented round-the-clock by Middle East Christians speaking the local Farsi and Dari languages -- reach every part of the nation, including remote mountain villages where people have never met a Christian in person.

National Day of Prayer Week

SCOTTSDALE, Az. -- Twenty years of The Presidential Prayer Team's daily calling of Americans to pray will culminate on Saturday, September 18.

The prayer team was born out of the urgency the nation experienced on September 11, 2001. As part of recognizing the work of the ministry and God's faithfulness, they launched the 2021 National Week of Prayer and Renewal (www.pray.team/prayerweek) on the anniversary of 9/11. Each day of this week of prayer has its own prayer focus. It began on 9/11 by calling for prayer and recognition for all first responders. Members of the prayer team across the nation submitted names of friends and families who serve to be included in the prayers of thousands of others.

WASHINGTON -- Rev. Patrick Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, applied for a permit to hold a: "Prayer vigil and remembrance for all those who perished on 9/11 and to pray for God's protection over America."

That permit application was denied by the U.S. Capitol Police because Rev. Mahoney was told the grounds around the Capitol are "restricted" and the permit would not be processed.

However, the grounds around the United States Capitol are not restricted. Business is going on as usual at the Capitol. Thousands of visitors walk across the grounds of the Capitol every week and recently Congressman Bush was allowed by the U.S. Capitol Police to camp out on the steps of the Capitol for several days and hold a major demonstration to protest evictions.
