Congress Should Just Say No to a Remittance Tax
- Details
- By Stephen Moore
The House-passed "big, beautiful" tax bill is a tremendous achievement and a giant sparkplug for growth. The bill extends all the Trump tax cuts of 2017, thus heading off a $4 trillion tax INCREASE next year. It expands health savings accounts, includes expensing of major capital and research expenditures by businesses, allows more money for school choice, and includes "no tax on tips" and no tax on overtime pay. And that's just for starters.
But there were also a few bad tax policy changes. One of the worst is the 3.5% tax on noncommercial "remittances" -- payments typically made by foreigners from U.S. financial institutions to parties outside the United States. Certainly, we need to tighten rules to make sure that money stored in the U.S. does not find its way into the hands of criminal syndicates, drug cartels or other bad actors.

Joseph Project International, largest importer of aid, unleashes ‘truckloads of compassion’

TEL AVIV, Israel — The largest importer of humanitarian aid in Israel is delivering crucial supplies across the country to Israelis facing Iran’s deadly ballistic missile onslaught.
Truckloads of aid are on their way to the city of Bat Yam, south of Tel Aviv — where at least nine Israelis were killed by a missile strike on Sunday — as well as Haifa and other communities targeted by Iran’s ferocious missile barrage over the past four days.
Joseph Project International is dispatching convoys of aid — including food, clothing, household and medical supplies — from its 16,000-square-foot warehouse near Jerusalem.
The organization has a giant shipping container of aid in port in Israel, with six more container ships on the way. Aid comes from donors in the U.S. and around the world.

Stanton Public Policy Calls on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) to Stop Spreading Misinformation About Abortion Pill Reversal
- Details
- By Stanton Public Policy Center
WASHINGTON — Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) is a scientifically supported, evidence-based medical protocol that uses progesterone—the natural hormone that sustains pregnancy. When administered appropriately, APR has successfully helped more than 7,000 women globally carry their pregnancies to term, with no documented harm to mother or child. The American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists publicly supports the use of APR.
Stanton has sent a strongly worded letter to ACOG requesting a face-to-face meeting with their leadership. Stanton would bring a delegation of physicians, researchers, APR clients, and public health experts to engage in an open, evidence-based dialogue regarding APR and its role in comprehensive women’s healthcare.
Greenville County GOP Changes Meeting Schedule, Does Not Rule Out Virtual Zoom Meetings

- By Terry M. Thacker
The Greenville County GOP held its first bi-monthly meeting of its new two-year term this past Monday at the Hughes Main Library. After the approval of a resolution on Monday night, however, the party will now meet quarterly rather than bi-monthly.
For decades, the party met on the first Monday of every even month. In the first meeting of the 2021 term, members of the MYSCGOP wing of the party managed to get a resolution passed to require monthly meetings.
Soon after that meeting, the newly elected chair Jennifer Black resigned under pressure. Jeff Davis, the leader of the MYSCGOP wing, was elected chair in her place. During the next two years, on several occasions the meetings were held in the back yard of the party's headquarters building on Wade Hampton Boulevard, the purchase of which had been arranged by Davis. Attendees had to bring their own chairs.

Sixteen Scriptural Passages of Concise Theology

“Amazing Grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now I am found;
Was blind, but now I see.”
Amazing Grace is undoubtedly the most popular hymn in America and arguably one of the most popular hymns worldwide. It was written in 1772 by John Newton, an ordained Anglican minister in England, who had previously been captain of a British ship involved in the brutal slave trade. Along with British Parliament Member William Wilberforce, he worked to outlaw British slave trading, which was accomplished in 1807, nine months before Newton’s death.
So with the goal of providing a concise Scriptural understanding of salvation by Grace—and Grace Alone—I have chosen 16 Scriptural passages to sharpen our understanding of this enormously important truth.
Marie Dorion Really Had “True Grit”!
- Details
- By W.H. Lamb
(I’m indebted to an article in the November/December 2018 Daughters of the American Revolution magazine, American Spirit, entitled: “On The Oregon Trail”, by Bill Hudgins, for first bringing to my attention the now almost forgotten American hero, Marie Aioe Dorion (ca. 1786-1850), and from which article I quote and paraphrase freely. Other sources from which I quote somewhat freely will be listed at the end of this article.)

This unique 64 or 65-year-old woman was buried beneath the altar inside the old wood-logged Roman Catholic church in St. Louis, Oregon on Sept. 6, 1850. This was undoubtedly a great honor at the time. Marie Aioe Dorion Venier Toupin (as she is identified by Wikipedia), was known in her latter years by her fellow settlers in the Willamette Valley in Oregon as “Madame Dorion”, and it was said that “she was looked up to and revered as an extraordinary woman, the oldest in the neighborhood, kindly, patient and devout”. Those “extraordinary” accomplishments of Marie Dorion were well known to many Americans of the 19th century, but except for a few history buffs, her name is virtually unknown today in the country that she helped open to the vast migration from east to west that occurred during most of the 19th century. Prior to the Hudgins article, I had never heard of her.
Christian Foreign Policy and George Washington as Philosopher
- Details
- By Winston McCuen - South Carolina
"First in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen." That is how one of George Washington's famous lieutenants, Henry "Light-Horse Harry" Lee, the father of Robert E. Lee, aptly and poetically described Washington -- the great Southerner, the great Virginian, the great Christian man and master of Mount Vernon. Above all, Washington was the great American soldier and statesman who, with others, secured the political independence of the American States upon their secession from the British Empire.
Since his death in 1799, much has been written on George Washington (1732-1799). But still, over two centuries after his passing, no writer has fully captured by description the whole man in his spirit and genius. And this is so because of the native power of the man himself and the wide diversity of his gifts, combined with the relative narrowness of focus of modern historians. Writers have understandably focused on Washington's remarkable and exciting military and political careers. In the process though, they have neglected Washington the intellect and thinker.

Tal Shoham and his family were visiting his in-laws for Sukkot (the Feast of Booths) when, in the early morning hours of October 7, 2023, radical Islamist terrorists burst into the unsuspecting kibbutz, changing his life and the lives of his family forever. For 505 days, Shoham endured ridicule, deprivation, uncertainty, and abuse until his release on February 22, 2025.
Taken to Gaza
“The terrorists just came, dozens of them, fully armed, to an unarmed community in the kibbutz,” Shoham related at Family Research Council headquarters in Washington, D.C. “After they broke into the room, they took me out first,” he said. “They threw me into a trunk of a car and just drove to Gaza.”
A Full Estimate of the Odds Against Abiogenesis
- Details
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
In determining the probability of abiogenesis occurring it is necessary to break the problem into at least two parts, there may be more, but it always helps to be as generous as possible on this topic because it gives evolutionists less wiggle room. These two parts are the probability of getting the necessary pieces in the same place and time and the odds of getting it assembled into a functioning living cell. Limiting it to these two steps is being extremely generous. This is because as you add steps the probability against it goes up exponentially.

I live in Virginia – but OHIO is my home! I was born and raised in the small city of Newark. My first political action began in 1968 when I founded Youth For Fair Government. I gave my first speech to a committee of the Ohio Senate for a bill I had helped to create.
In 1969, I Founded Licking County Youth for Decency In America. We actually organized one of the nation’s first volunteer walkathon charities – we called it Miles for Millions.
In 1974, I ran for a seat in the Ohio Legislature to represent the 30th House District. It was a slim little district covering Ohio State University, basically designed for a radical leftist. And the incumbent fit the bill perfectly. I didn’t win in that year of Watergate when Republicans were wiped out across the country. But for ten years after I held the record for doing the best against the incumbent.
Why the CBO Almost Always Gets It Wrong
- Details
- By Stephen Moore
These days it seems that a mysterious group called "the CBO" rules the world, or at least Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, it's not very good at predicting things, and its bad calls can lead to bad policy results.
The Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation predict what will happen with spending, tax revenues and deficits from new bills and congressional budgets.
They have made headlines with their absurd warning that the Trump tax bill to extend the 2017 tax cuts and other reforms like eliminating taxes on tips would add trillions to the debt over 10 years.

Clean out the Rot at the Top
Imagine if, during the height of the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, a situation where our premier American university educated the Russian elite of the Communist Party. These undercover spies — pretending to be students — would have learned a great deal about America and Americans, so that when they returned to their mother country, they would be ready to implement the Soviet goal of burying the United States. If that had happened, would Ronald Reagan have been able to defeat the USSR and tear down the Berlin Wall? Such a scandalous scenario in the 1950s and 1960s is hard to imagine because Americans then understood the existential threat of communism.
Importance of Jesus's Death and Resurrection
- Details
- By Jim S. Brooks - Roebuck, SC
There is no way for any human being to experience the forgiveness of sins or receive eternal spiritual life with God without an affirmative trust and faith in the physical death on the cross and actual physical resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Son of Man. It is Jesus’ death and resurrection plus nothing that saves and opens entry into eternal spiritual life. It is an un-earnable but incredibly loving gift from God! If it did not occur man has no hope before God for eternal spiritual life and the rest of Christianity taught is a useless “religion” before God for reconciliation! All we, individually, can give God is FAITH AND TRUST in all He says. The Koran, as did Satin in the Garden, denies all that Jesus taught about Himself! Satin called God a liar in the Old Testament, In the New Testament, through the Koren, Satan calls Jesus a liar. Satin then and now is the liar!
‘Buyer’s Remorse’: Support for Same-Sex Agenda Craters among Republicans

A new poll is showing that support for same-sex marriage has dropped to a 10-year low among Republicans but spiked to a record high among Democrats. According to Gallup, 68% of Americans overall support same-sex marriage, barely down from 69% last year. However, that “steady” level of support — approval for same-sex marriage has hovered between 67% and 71% over the past five years and has not fallen below 50% since 2011 — belies a stark and rapidly-growing political division.
False Narratives on Russia Drive Expanded War Dangers
- Details
- By Mike Scruggs
Ignorance Is Not Strength

Widely accepted false narratives on Russia and the Ukraine War are driving the U.S. and Western Europe toward dangerously expanded war, further destruction of Ukraine, and eroded support for Trump and Republican majorities in Congress.
The Communist Soviet Union was dissolved in 1991, and most of it became the Russian Federation. Boris Yeltsin became President of the Russian Federation in June 1991 with 54 percent of the vote against just over 40 percent for the Communist candidate. He won again with 54 percent in 1996 with the Communist candidate rounding up to 41 percent. Russian (and Ukrainian) elections have a “none of the above” choice on the ballot. Yeltsin ran as an independent, but was generally aligned with right-of-center and liberal free-market economy reform supporters. In August 1999, Yeltsin replaced his prime minister, and appointed Vladimir Putin his Prime Minister and heir apparent. Putin was even more inclined to free-market economic and political reform than Yeltsin. Yeltsin resigned as president on December 31, 1999, and appointed Putin his interim successor. Putin was elected President of Russia in May 2000 with just over 53 percent of the vote. The Communist candidate received just 29.5 percent of the vote. Boris Yeltsin died in 2007.

WISE MEN SEEKING JESUS, a poem by James T. East (1860-1937)
“Wise men seeking Jesus traveled from afar,
Guided in their journey by a wondrous star.
But if we desire Him, He is close at hand,
For our native country is our holy land.
Prayerful souls may find Him by our quiet lakes,
Meet Him on our hillsides when the dawning breaks.
In our fertile wheat fields where the sheaves are bound,
In our busy markets Jesus may be found.
Is Creationism Pseudoscience?
- Details
- By Charles Creager, Jr.
Evolutionists often referred to creationism as pseudoscience. While there are some areas of thought that fall under the legitimate use of the word pseudoscience, it is primarily used in practice as a derogatory term, rather than any legitimate meaning to the word. The question before us is does creationism qualify as a pseudoscience. Do creationists engage in actual scientific activity? Part of the problem turns out to be the way evolution is defined both scientific activity and evidence. It produces the illusion that their side has all the evidence in creationists or any other perspective for that matte,r has none.
Bear Activity Alert in District 19
- Details
- By Benton Blount - Chairman of Greenville County Council
Recently, I was contacted by a friend and constituent who reported increased bear sightings in District 19. These sightings are not isolated, and it’s clear that black bear activity is on the rise in several parts of the county, particularly in areas where development is expanding into what were previously more rural, wooded zones.
I take these concerns seriously and want residents to know that your safety, and the safety of our local wildlife, is a top priority. I also recognize that some of this increase in bear presence is directly tied to our growth as a county. As we continue refining our development practices this year, we will keep wildlife impacts front of mind to ensure we’re being responsible stewards of the land and our natural neighbors.

The loudmouth Marxists who, until now, have gotten away with their flowery rhetoric are appalled at Trump and his mean-spirited actions and decrees. Really!?
UK Declares ‘War-Fighting Readiness’ in Major Defense Shift Amid Rising Russian Threats (Investigation)
- Details
- By Worthy News Europe Bureau Staff
LONDON (Worthy News) – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced a sweeping overhaul of the United Kingdom’s defense posture on Monday, declaring that the country is moving into a state of “war-fighting readiness” in response to rising global threats, particularly from Russia.
Speaking at BAE Systems’ Govan shipyard in Glasgow, Starmer unveiled a Strategic Defence Review that marks the most significant transformation of Britain’s armed forces in decades. “We are being directly threatened by states with advanced military forces,” Starmer said. “The most effective way to deter them is to be ready — and to show them that we’re ready — to deliver peace through strength.”
The review, led by former NATO Secretary-General George Robertson, recommends 62 reforms — all of which the government has accepted — aimed at reversing decades of defense decline and addressing the post-Cold War complacency. Starmer declared that Britain’s military must be “more integrated, more ready, more lethal than ever,” and emphasized a rearmament effort that he said would deliver a “defense dividend” of jobs and manufacturing growth.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Colson Center (TCC), Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), and stakeholders launched a free video platform called the Identity Project. The platform helps Christians discover, live, and lead others to ground their identity in God. It is a one-stop shop for vetted content, offering over 200 free, Biblically grounded videos from trusted Christian voices on topics like identity, parenting, and sexuality.
“As Christians, we are called to preserve what is good and restore what is broken in our world,” said John Stonestreet, President of The Colson Center. “Now more than ever, our culture needs Christians to restore a broken understanding of identity by living from their God-given identity, and the Identity Project helps them do just that.”
Trump's Own Regulators Declare War on Coal and Its Investors
- Details
- By Stephen Moore
In one of the most convoluted lawsuits of all time, a cabal of state attorneys general and the Federal Trade Commission are now accusing financial firms BlackRock, State Street and Vanguard of monopolistic behavior. The complaint asserts that these firms bought coal stocks and then helped impose radical environmental restrictions on the companies they partially own so that coal output would fall and the price of coal would rise. The lawsuit alleges that this strategy generated "supra-competitive" profits for those investors.

A Pennsylvania reader contacted us; he had heard rumors about a carbon capture pipeline (CCS) project that was supposed to be coming to Pennsylvania, and he wanted to know where it would be. He had asked officials but was told that there aren’t any in the works right now. My digging came up with a report called “Potential Near-Term Candidate CCS Industrial Facilities in Pennsylvania” (with estimated capturable emissions & range of capture costs).
But that information I received was vague – there were companies asking for information but not stating any interest to move forward. The best one gets is the official lines:
“While there are no commercial CCS projects operating or under development in Pennsylvania, there are some laboratory and small pilot projects underway.”

The French pulled out of Indochina in 1954, shortly after the Battle of Dien Phu on May 7, 1954. However, losing 4,000 dead and missing, and the surrender of nearly 12,000 French Foreign Legion and French Union troops (including 6,600 wounded) at Dien Bien Phu was not the principal reason France gave up the colony it had governed since 1887. The French-Indochina War was a Two-Front War. The war was really lost on the home-front after 9 years of intensive Communist agitation and propaganda. The French Parliament, having only a small plurality of moderates and conservatives over socialist and leftist parties, finally caved.

Forgiveness From the Soul

Chapter 2-1
Debrala and Lee were startled when the video cube they were watching suddenly stopped. Bal had entered the room unnoticed, and was sitting beside a weeping Shana, doing his best to comfort her.
“It’s all right, Shanee, it’s all right,” assured her husband. “Let it out, love. Let it out,” he kept telling her, pulling her close to him. Leeamar, Shana’s grand daughter, was confused over her grandmother’s reaction to the video cube they were watching, and looked to her mother for an explanation. Tears were also falling down her mother’s cheeks, and Lee went to her.
“What is it, Mom? Why are you and Gramma crying? It was only a sad story. Wasn’t it?” asked the teen. Deb looked at Lee and took her hand.
