On April 3rd the South Carolina Department of Public Safety held its 8th annual DUI enforcement recognition and 2012 Law Enforcement DUI Challenge Ceremonies in Columbia. Law Enforcement officers and agencies were recognized for their efforts in 2012 to enforce that state’s DUI laws by locating and arresting impaired drivers from South Carolina’s roadways.
The South Carolina Department of Public Safety presented awards to officers and agencies in several categories. The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office received the Agency of the Year award for the category of 101 or more officers and making a total of 750 DUI arrests. Deputy Jonathan Jackson received the Officer of the Year award for the category of 101 or more officers and making a total of 152 DUI arrests alone. Deputies Chris Bailey, Gene Clark, Will Richter, Jared Skinner and Jesse Wasserman were recognized as a DUI Gold Hero for having 50 or more DUI arrests.
This is a great accomplishment for the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and all the deputies who worked so hard to ensure the safety of those who travel the roadways within Greenville County.
