GradyMiller-1John Grady Miller, Jr., died Sunday, November 16, 2014 after long illness.

Born in Greenville on August 16, 1934, Grady was the son of the late John Grady Miller, Sr. and Ellie Robinson Miller. He was a long-time resident of Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School in 1952.

A 1956 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, he was a devoted Tiger fan and IPTAY supporter. At Clemson, he earned an ROTC commission and served in the US Army as Second Lieutenant. An avid motorcycle and car enthusiast, Grady built his passion into successful businesses, operating Honda of Anderson from 1973 until 1976, then establishing Grady Miller's Honda in Greenville in 1976. After retirement, he opened Miller's Cycles, where he sold, serviced and collected vintage motorcycles. He was co-founder and former president of the Greenville County Taxpayers Association. He attended Choice Hills Baptist Church.

Surviving are his children, John Grady Miller III, Robert G. Miller, Jamie M. Boggs, Jan M. Mayo and Lynne M. Miller; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; his sister, Frances M. Jones of Columbia and brother-in-law, Bruce Barton of Greenville. Two sisters, Mary Ruth M. Vissage and Katherine M. Barton, predeceased him.

Visitation was held Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The memorial service followed at 4:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel with The Reverend Dr. Bob Felts, West Campus Pastor at First Baptist Church Simpsonville, officiated.
