Students in Linda Kemp's Washington Center class enjoy going out into the community. The students visit various places, such as grocery stores, the mall, museums, the park and restaurants. While out in the community, students are able to practice skills that they learn in the classroom; those skills include counting out money to make purchases, locating items in a store as well as locating safety signs. The class recently visited downtown Greenville and ate lunch at Bertolo's. The students had the opportunity to practice locating safety signs. This is an important skill for students to learn in order to keep them safe.
