In December 2014, the Hillcrest High School Rams defeated Dutch Fork 47-17 to win the South Carolina AAAA Division I State Championship. Hillcrest, which had won only two playoff games in their previous 56 seasons, went 14-1 in 2014 to win the school’s first ever football state title. Councilman Butch Kirven, representing Greenville County Council, presented Coach Greg Porter and the team with a Proclamation honoring the team for their historic accomplishment.
