National Parks

Warren and Powell class

Mr. Keith Powell’s Washington Center class has explored the outdoors by doing a study of our National Parks. The school year began with Acadia National Park and are ending the current study with Yosemite National Park. Students have enjoyed seeing the great wonders in our country; mountains, swamps, deserts, caves, volcanoes, rivers, lakes, and beautiful coastlines.

Staff member Mr. Warren Bolos came to the class to teach and show pictures of the Hawaiian Volcanoes National Park. Mr. Bolos and some other Washington Center teachers and friends went this past summer to visit his mother who lives near the National Park Volcano. After showing interesting pictures of the volcano erupting, volcano sand, and other items he shared with the class very delicious “Molten Volcano Fudge Cake.”
