Republican Governor Larry Hogan is one of the most popular elected officials in the country.

He cruised to reelection in November by nearly 300,000 votes in deep blue Maryland.

Now, the 62-year-old is implicitly going after the president on the stump, meeting with political insiders, and even planning a trip to Iowa – all stoking speculation the cancer survivor is mulling a primary challenge against the incumbent president. (Politico)

Hogan used his inaugural address on Wednesday to repudiate the “debilitating politics” of Washington — and to raise the specter of impeachment. He recalled how his father, former Rep. Lawrence Hogan, was the first Republican congressman to support the removal of Richard Nixon.
