If you want a sense of where the left is headed nationally, look at what progressive legislators in Texas are trying to do. They want to ban Christianity in all but name. This continues a long line of thought first advocated by the Obama Administration, which sought to restrict the “free exercise” clause of the first amendment to a “freedom of worship” standard. In other words, be a Christian in church on Sunday, but no where else.

Consider a few pieces of legislation that have been filed in the Texas legislature.

HB 224, HB 254, and SB 151 would force Christian small businesses to to provide their goods and services to support sexual orientation and transgenderism. All for profit businesses would have to allow men to use women’s bathrooms. And contractors who take business from the state would have to give up their deeply held religious views if those views do not affirm transgenderism.

HB 517 would ban Christian counseling services unless those Christian counselors buy into gender identity nonsense.

HB 850 would force Christian businesses to pay for same-sex benefits.

SB 154 would force doctors, even against their conscience, to create new birth certificates and other documents for gender identity.

Progressives in Texas also want to roll back state protections for faith based adoption agencies.

If the left is this emboldened in Texas, think about how far they’ll go in your state. Christianity is not a religion of the church pew, but of the town square. Texas progressives are trying to ban it from anywhere outside the church.
