Stop Playing Church!
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
My cousin Bud Moon is a retired pharmaceutical salesman turned part-time comedian. Bud tells some mostly true stories from his youth after his family moved from the bright lights of the Lyman suburbs to a peaceful neighborhood in the Dark Corner. The stories Bud tells to sophisticated banquet goers are much better than paid comedy writers can dream up for big bucks. Several of the stories involve a group of bored neighborhood kids playing church. One of his best involved a couple of youngsters attempting to baptize a cat during a pretend church service. If you know cats, use your imagination to determine the rest of the Bud Moon story.
In 2014 there are indications that a lot of adults are playing church. They are not yet baptizing cats, at least I don’t think so, but they are reportedly doing some things just as nonproductive and foolish. I’ll spare us the pain of dealing with a list of the games people play and call it church.

Is the United States in Decline?
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
A growing number of Americans believe our constitutional republic is in decline. Students of factual history know that our blessed nation is making some of the same mistakes that led to the fall of the Roman Empire and the enslavement of ancient Israel.
Dr. Ben Carson and his wife Candy published a book in 2012 titled, America the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made this Nation Great. The book is an excellent read and a factual brief review of United States History.
Carson, who recently became famous as the only American with the courage to challenge the current President of the United States in person before a ballroom full of people on national television, has now become a potential president candidate.

God Bless America Again
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Independence Day weekend provided an opportunity to reflect on the genius of our Founding Fathers and their dependence on “Divine Guidance” as they crafted our founding documents. The Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States are based on Biblical principles and designed to govern a “moral people.” For centuries Americans have protected and revered the Constitution.
More recently, we have elected immoral people who do not honor their oath of office or abide by the Constitution.

Civil Liberties in Jeopardy
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
Dear Readers, Our civil liberties are in danger. Lawmakers, Judges and the President are routinely violating their oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. There is no justice emanating from the Justice Department. We have moved from the “rule of law” to the “rule of man.” This is intentional. It is part of a plan to “fundamentally change” the constitutional republic to a socialistic dictatorship. We have already begun the journey down this road. The farther we go the harder it will be to turn back. In fact we may have already passed the point of no return.
We ignore these facts at our own peril. On this Independence Day it would be wise for us to pause for a moment and think about the price our ancestors paid for the freedom we are in danger of losing due to our collective ignorance, procrastination and inaction.
