INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

An evolutionary perspective on natural phenomenon is essentially that only natural phenomenon exists. This is an inherently atheistic view of reality that throws out much of what is described in the Bible before ever looking at any evidence. By its very nature, this view of reality excludes from consideration such events as Creation and the Genesis Flood. Even a more subtle perspective such as intelligent design cannot be considered because ultimately the intelligent designer has to be beyond nature it has to be excluded if you only accept natural phenomena.

Now theistic evolutionists will try to insert God into the evolutionary process, but in trying to do so they reduced Him to nothing more than a guiding force and a God of the gaps. This is one of the bases for atheists claiming that any evidence suggested for God is nothing but a God of the gaps. That is those that agree with them about evolution but still believe in God have pretty much reduced the creator God of the Bible to gap filler.

Ultimately the evolutionist perspective is not only naturalistic but materialistic as well. From this perspective our minds are nothing, but the electrical impulses in our brains as atoms and molecules move around in a deterministic way. Consequently, the result of this naturalistic view of the world is a denial of free will, as well as any life after this one. While theistic evolutionists usually disagree with such conclusions, they are effectively backing them up by accepting the premise that only natural phenomena are to be used to explain the world around us.
