Order Allows Seniors Access to Social Security without Strings Attached
- By Eagle Forum
On November 8, 2018, President Eunie Smith signed a coalition letter on our behalf to President Trump. The letter asked the President to undo the administrative interpretation of both the Medicare and Social Security statues which have been preventing seniors from receiving Social Security if they waive Medicare Part A coverage. This effectively forces seniors to enroll in Medicare, which was enacted to serve as a voluntary program.

The System Works: Former Dallas Cop Guilty of Murder Sentenced to 10 Years
- By C. Mitchell Shaw - The New American
After a trial that lasted one week, former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger (shown) was found guilty Tuesday of the murder of an unarmed black man in his own apartment after mistakenly entering the apartment, thinking it was hers. The jury took only five hours to deliberate before reaching that verdict.
In a case that shook the nation, Guyger — after completing a 15-hour tour of duty — entered the apartment directly above her own and found the resident of that apartment, Botham Jean, sitting on the couch, watching television and eating ice cream. She proceeded to shoot him once — in the torso — ending his life. She actually fired twice, but only one shot hit its mark — center mass, a shot police are trained to take — her other shot missed Jean entirely.

Pot Bill Tokes the Line on Public Safety
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
When the alarm went off at Jennifer Hrobuchak's work, the 22-year-old district manager didn't think twice. She got in her car in the early morning hours and headed off to the store to investigate. The new college graduate, who had hoped to have a career saving people from drugs, never saw the man run through the red light straight at her. At 82 miles per hour, he slammed Jennifer's car across the road into a building that crushed and killed her. After seven years of telling the story, her mom, Corinne, still gets emotional. And it's no wonder. The man who hit her was high on marijuana and walked away from the scene completely unharmed. Her daughter never walked anywhere again.
