Just Say Something Awarded $2,500 Dabo’s All In Team Foundation Grant

Greenville, SC – Just Say Something (JSS) was recently awarded a $2,500 grant from Dabo’s All in Team Foundation to continue to implement the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) in Greer, in partnership with Greer Relief/Victor United Methodist Church. SFP is designed to help families with children ages 6-11 develop positive discipline practices, resiliency, and conflict management; and improve parenting skills, childhood social skills, relationships, and school performance to strengthen families and guard against abuse, neglect, and adverse childhood experiences.

WARRENTON, Mo. -- People of faith are celebrating this week, and none more than the teachers of nearly 5,000 Good News Clubs in the nation's public schools. On National Religious Freedom Day, January 16, President Trump signed new guidance rules to protect, among other things, freedom of prayer in public schools. He was surrounded by students who have suffered discrimination and even persecution.
Every week, about 170,000 students pray in elementary public school classrooms in Good News Clubs organized by Child Evangelism Fellowship. While these after-school CEF clubs are growing exponentially overseas, the going is tough in the USA due to misconceptions about religious practice inside public school walls.

Open Doors' 2020 World Watch List Reveals Surge of Violence, 'Human Rights Nightmare' in China

WASHINGTON -- Today Open Doors announced the 2020 World Watch List at a press conference in Washington, D.C, and revealed that Christians living in China are experiencing unprecedented levels of persecution, and their quality of life is deteriorating at an alarming rate. China jumped four spots, from #27 in 2019 to #23 in 2020, on the annual list which ranks the top 50 most dangerous countries for Christians.
Assistant Secretary of State Robert Destro and U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-AL) provided remarks at the press conference, and three Chinese Christians who have faced persecution for their faith provided personal narrative to support Open Doors' findings.

Homer D. Bryant Remembered

Homer D. Bryant, 96, of Greenville, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019.
Born in West Pelzer, he was a son of the late Dee and Mattie Lollis Bryant.
Homer served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII in the European Theater from 1943 until 1946. He was a faithful member of Dunean Baptist Church, as well as a former Past Master of Dunean Masonic Lodge #359 and American Legion Post #3.
