INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

First of all I want to congratulate The Times Examiner and WORD radio for recognizing what is truly important news to cover. They were the only newspaper and radio show I am aware of that was in attendance at the Debate on Common Core held at Greer High School this past week sponsored by SC Senators Tom Corbin, Representatives Mike Burns and Dwight Loftis.

SC Parents Involved in Education’s President Sheri Few, American Principal Project’s Jane Robbins, and Americans Have Had Enough’s Executive Director Roan Garcia Quintana decimated the representatives from SC Education Association’s representatives in this debate. They made it clear Common Core is NOT in the best interest of SC children. All the local TV stations, radios, and newspapers were sent a press release...but obviously they didn't think the future of SC children's education was important enough to cover. Shame on them!

I also must say  shame on the Greenville News for not reporting on the speech I made against Common Core Standards January 2, 2014, in front of the Pickens Delegation Meeting in Dacusville, SC.  In my speech I asked the Pickens Delegation for their support in passing SC Senate Bill 300 and SC House Bill 3943 and gave my reasons why.  Julie Howle, the reporter representing Greenville News was present and mentioned other people's speeches in her report. However, there was not one peep about my speech or the fact that at least 6 other people voiced their opposition to Common Core at the end of their speeches. Shame on our Greenville area drive-by media that don't understand the importance of reporting important issues! Shame on them for cherry picking what they will or won't cover at a meeting.  I am truly ashamed of our local  drive-by media! Pickens is a conservative county; however, we have a progressive liberal biased media. Thank you Times Examiner and WORD radio for reporting on important issues that the overwhelming majority of Pickens County conservative voters want to hear about!
