Warning: The Proposed Article V Constitutional Convention (CON-CON) Will Open A "Pandora's Box" of Frightening Consequences!
- By W.H. Lamb
Most of us are familiar with the legend of “Pandora’s Box”, first introduced in Greek mythology in the works of the ancient Greek poet/writer Hesiod, who is thought to have been active in the century between 750 B.C. to 650 B.C. According to that mythology, Pandora was created by “the gods” on Mt. Olympus as the first woman on earth, and was given as a wife to one of the “gods”. They also gave her a jar, or box, filled by “the gods” with all kinds of good and evil and gave it to Pandora, instructing her to never open the box. But her curiosity got the better of her, and she opened the box, thus releasing upon humankind all of the “spirits” of good and evil. Pandora, realizing what she had done, tried to close the box but by that time only “HOPE” was still in it, and was sealed therein.

Tariffs and the Cultural Marxist War against Truth
- By Mike Scruggs
Leftist Organizers Attack Free Speech and Raleigh Police
“The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it.” – George Orwell
In February 2012, I published a 12-thousand-word article on the Morrill Tariff in the Confederate Veteran, the magazine of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. A large part of that work dealt with the history, economic impact, and North-South political tensions from 1815 to the final passage of the Morrill Tariff in March 1861 and beyond. In the summer of 2012, I addressed a Stephen D. Lee Institute (SDLI) symposium in Savannah on protective tariffs and other economic issues regarding “Lincoln’s Economic Legacy.” The SDLI is an educational subsidiary of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. My February 2012 article was later published in the book, To Live and Die in Dixie: The Struggle Continues---by Seventeen Southerners, in 2014.

Are We Americans On Our “Final Cruise”?
- By W.H. Lamb
She was launched in 1932 and christened, S.S. MONTEREY by Matson Lines. Over a 68 year illustrious life, with several different cruise line owners, she became the oldest continuously operated (with a few layup years) cruise ship afloat. Over all those years, when “cruising” became in turn very popular and, when air travel became faster and less expensive, almost dead for a time, she kept being retrofitted and modernized, often with spare parts from her scrapped sister ships. Her beautiful and majestic lines were known by various names over those decades (Monterey, Matsonia, Lurline, Britanis, and finally, as Belofin). On our one and only cruise on her in December, 1990, my wife and I knew and loved her as S.S. BRITANIS, and that’s what she’ll always be in our memories. We had a wonderful week on her, and we got to know every foot of her historic teak decks, inside and out.

Getting past blame to hearing the voice of God
- By Ben Graydon
Has God called us to be fruitful? Of course. So why, then, aren’t we? Be careful; let’s not just find someone to blame besides ourselves.
I’ll admit that I grew up in blame-placing, excuse-making environment. I don’t think I am alone in that. It’s easy today, for example, to blame liberal Democrats for everything … or the boss who failed to give you that promised raise … or the idiot who’s driving too slowly in front of you. But it misses the point that God wants us to learn, learn from, and develop new ground rules to live by.

Churches and Immigration
- By Jim Brooks
It is a mystery that “Christian” Churches can advocate bringing practicing Muslims to the United States in great numbers. It is true Christian churches can not dictate immigration policy to secular governments but Christian Churches should be influenced by Biblical teachings of the identity of the many anti-Christ’s. Jesus said Christians should be as wise as serpents but gentle as a dove. Genteel doves shouldn’t invite hawks in for genteel dialogue – even if their genteel life-style is the best, because hungry hawks advocate eating doves.

The Transparent Nonsense of the Russia Hoax
- By Mike Scruggs
Grasping for Power by Insulting Truth and Reason
No informed adult outside of a lunatic asylum can believe that Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin would prefer to have Donald Trump as U.S. President over Hillary Clinton,
Bernie Sanders, or any other leftist or radical leftist Democratic Party politicians competing in the 2020 Presidential Primaries. It is absurd to believe that Putin would favor Trump, a U.S. President whose promised and actual policies embody strong national defense and internal security policies, over Democrats whose policies on national defense and especially internal security are demonstrably weak—so weak that foolish and short-sighted are too polite a description.

Will This Be “The History Of Our Future”?
- By W.H. Lamb
“Are these the shadows of the things that will be, or are they shadows of things that may be, only?... Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead. But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change….Say it is thus with what you show me.”
So said Ebenezer Scrooge to the “Spirit of Christmas Future,” in Charles Dickens’ classic 1843 novel, “A Christmas Carol,” one of his most popular and enduring books.
