DVD of “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi” on Sale June 7
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
This is the True Story of What actually Happened on the Ground in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 as Told by CIA Security Officials who Defied Orders to “Stand Down,” and Risked their Lives to Save Other Americans Pleading for Help.
The movie adaptation of the book 13 Hours in Benghazi by Mitchell Zuckoff with the Annex Security Team will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Tuesday, June 7, 2013.
Three of the contract operators who responded to the September 11, 2012 attack on Benghazi, Mark “Oz” Geist, Kris “Tanto” Paronto and John “Tig” Tiegen went public and allowed their names to be used in the book and movie. Jack Silva and Dave Benton who also participated in the activities, are pseudonyms used to preserve their families’ privacy and their own. Another member of the CIA team, Tyrone “Rone” Woods died during the attack on the Annex.
Kris Paronto spoke at the Greenville County Republican Women’s Club luncheon at the Poinsett Club on 26 March of last year. On the night before the luncheon The Times Examiner hosted a dinner in his honor with the help of friends. About 50 guests attended the event and had an opportunity to interact with one of the real heroes of Benghazi.

Widow of American Sniper Taya Kyle at Taylors Free Medical Clinic Banquet
- By Bob Dill, Publisher
The Taylors Free Medical Clinic is dedicated to providing quality free health care to eligible individuals in a culture of caring
When the crowd surrounding Taya Kyle dwindled during the reception, I approached the Author of American Wife with a degree of anxiety. As she stretched out her hand I responded by telling her that as a veteran of almost three decades of military service, I had a great deal of respect and admiration for military wives and their many sacrifices for their families and their country. I was somewhat startled when she responded with a big hug for this old soldier. The words had touched a tender spot behind the tough shell surrounding this woman who had been hardened by an eventful and painful life.
Mrs. Kyle was introduced to the packed house of Taylors Free Medical Clinic supporters by Dr. Tony Beam who discussed his emotional reaction to the Clint Eastwood directed movie depicting her husband’s life as the sniper with the most sniper kills in US military history, She had no small role in his life and the movie.
