The Ongoing War against the South
- By Mike Scruggs
Time for Some Truth and Backbone
![Robert L. Dabney Robert L. Dabney](/images/Robert-L-Dabney.jpg)
There seems to be a new full-court press in big media, education, and government to demonize Southern history and culture. It has even become difficult to find a study copy of the Confederate Constitution on the internet without shoveling through dozens of articles recently written to discredit it and anything not conforming to increasingly vicious anti-Southern narratives of the war. This new intolerant viciousness serves neither truth nor peace and insults common sense and wisdom.
The government and progressive media narrative of the Civil War focuses on one issue—slavery—turning the war into a morality play about freeing Southern slaves. No knowledgeable and politically uncorrupted scholar can endorse such a politicized and distorted simplification of history. Yet that is the prevailing and often compulsory public understanding of the “cause” of the war. Slavery was an important secondary issue, but it was not primarily driven by a moral rejection of the institution by most Northern political leaders or their constituents.

Fourth District Congressional candidate Mark Burns had strong words to say to the incumbent William Timmons this past Monday evening at a Republican debate held at the Veranda on Global Drive in Greenville. Other candidates present were Mike LaPierre and George Abuzeid.
Several times during the one-hour debate, Burns challenged Timmons to disavow what he referred to as his “mentor” Lindsey Graham's support of Joe Biden's “gun-grabbing” agenda.
At one point, Timmons replied, to loud applause, “I believe Mr. Burns wants to run against Lindsey Graham. I'm not Lindsey Graham.”
Churches and Pro-Life Orgs Have Been Attacked 41 Times in the Last 40 Days
- By Dan Hart - The Washington Stand
The Washington Stand has found that there have been at least 41 separate incidents of violent attacks against churches, pro-life organizations, and pro-life property across the country since the May 2 leak of a draft Supreme Court decision in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case that indicated the overturning of Roe v. Wade. These attacks include arson, vandalism, property theft, and property destruction.
Adios, Common Sense. We’ll Miss You!
- By W.H. Lamb
A few years ago a friend sent me an e-mail that ostensibly was an “obituary”, but not for a person. It was for that eminently practical commodity we’ve always referred to as ‘common sense'. I’ve changed it a bit, and I don’t know who the original author was, but let me share it with you:
THE DEATH OF COMMON SENSE
“Today we mourn the passing of an old, old friend, whose name was ‘Common Sense’. He was with us for so long that no one alive today knows for sure just how ‘old’ he was, since his birth records were lost long ago in the maze of Washingtonian ‘red tape’. He’ll be missed, though—that’s for certain. Common Sense will be remembered, at least by the more “experienced” citizenry, as having taught us valuable lessons, such as:

PLEASE NOTE – IMPORTANT DETAIL: do not take this info to the polls in any printed form. By law, you may take only a list of names and offices to the polling site.
- For candidates already in an office, I have been able to check voting records. My comments reflect their voting records throughout their tenure.
- For those who have never run for office before, and who claim a position, I will state their claim, but understand I have nothing by which to verify that claim.
- Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A photo ID is required to vote in South Carolina.
This year there is one important dynamic going on—the Democrats are having their own contested Governor’s and Superintendent race statewide. Democrats have an incentive to stay in their own primary and not to meddle in ours. So some conservatives have a better chance than usual to win the nomination or at least to make it to a run-off.
New Video Proves Jan. 6 House Committee Lied to Public on June 9
- By Patriot's Legal Defense Fund
WASHINGTON -- New video evidence proves that Democrats misled the public on June 9 in the January 6 Select Committee to investigate the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol presentation.
The new video evidence can be seen at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMr1GKhC5bY
On June 9, British filmmaker Nick Quested repeated his claim that Enrique Tarrio, Chairman of the Proud Boys, had a "meeting" with Stewart Rhodes, President of the Oath Keepers, in a D.C. parking garage on Jan. 5, 2021.
Quested testified that he could not hear what was being said during the chance encounter in a D.C. parking garage near the Phoenix Hotel. But in fact, Quested's video clearly includes the full conversation. There is no mention of the Capitol.
Jan. 6 Hearings on Primetime
- By Eagle Forum
Dems are STILL Obsessing over Trump
Despite being almost 18 months since the January 6, 2021 Capitol protest, House Democrats are still talking about that day! Rather than work for the American people, they continue to use their power for shallow acts of “righteousness” and “justice.”
During primetime Thursday evening, the House Select Committee on the January 6th Capitol protest will begin their public hearings. The “bipartisan” committee consists of six radical Democrats and two “Republicans,” Representatives Liz Cheney (WY) and Adam Kinzinger (IL), both outspoken critics of President Trump.
According to NBC, “The committee will present previously unseen material documenting January 6th, receive witness testimony, preview additional hearings, and provide the American people a summary of its findings about the coordinated, multi-step effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election and prevent the transfer of power.”
Physicians Sue FDA Over “Crusade” Against Ivermectin
- By Raven Clabough - The New American
Three physicians have filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) this month for the agency’s “crusade” against ivermectin as a treatment for Covid-19. The lawsuit contends the FDA “unlawfully interfered” with the doctors’ ability to practice medicine by directing the public, health professionals, and patients not to use ivermectin.
The Epoch Times reports that Drs. Robert L. Apter, Mary Talley Bowden, and Paul E. Marik filed the lawsuit with the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Texas, Galveston Division. In addition to the FDA, the suit names the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, and Acting FDA Commissioner Robert Califf. The physicians are represented by Boyden, Gray & Associates, a Washington, D.C.-based law firm.

Biological Men Have Won 28 Women's Sports Titles Since 2003
- By Dan Hart - The Washington Stand
A biological male athlete who identifies as transgender as well as transgender activists recently stated grievances against sports governing bodies like the NCAA for “regressing” from “efforts to create a safe and inclusive environment” for male athletes who identify as transgender. The complaints come despite an increasing number of girls’ and women’s sporting events being dominated by biological males.
The Washington Stand has found that there have been at least 28 separate girls’ and women’s sports titles that have been won by biological males (or have included biological men as part of a winning women’s team) in the last 19 years, with the trend accelerating exponentially in the past three years.
Religious freedom is Winning in Massachusetts -- and Beyond
- By Catching Fire News
There are a lot of reasons to be encouraged in Massachusetts. Hal's guest Michael King shares victory after victory in areas such as parental rights, sex education, sanctity of life and religious liberty.
For example: When they closed the churches claiming they were not "essential" but kept the liquor store, pot shop and abortion clinic open - they sued the governor -- and won.
One city told the church they could not sing. They sued the City -- and won. When they tried to impose capacity limits in churches but not the big stores they sued in Federal court -- and won.
Listen and be prepared to be inspired.
Life Legal Sues Planned Parenthood Northern California
- By Life Legal Defense Foundation
NAPA, Calif. -- Life Legal served Planned Parenthood Northern California with a lawsuit yesterday for repeatedly harassing pro-lifers outside its Napa California abortion mill. Planned Parenthood "deathscorts" routinely assault pro-lifers to prevent them from talking to women entering the Napa facility.
In one case, a Planned Parenthood "deathscort" grabbed a pro-lifer’s arm and pushed it away as she was handing literature to a woman approaching the facility. In another case, which happened at the height of the COVID pandemic, a deathscort stepped up to a pro-lifer, got within six inches of her face, and started screaming at her. The pro-lifer was alarmed and shaken by this aggressive behavior.
New Hand Count Evidence Shows Georgia Voting System May Have Added 15% to Raffensperger Totals
- By VoterGA
ATLANTA -- VoterGA today exposed at their press conference a variety of voting machine counting failures in the Georgia 2022 primary.
VoterGA first presented an Election Night graphic showing Georgia's voting system allocated 3,317 votes to a Fulton County School Board District 7 candidate who was NOT on the ballot! That same graphic showed candidate Phil Chen with zero votes at 10:12 on Election Night even though he actually received 49.7% of the vote in the race. Chen has challenged the outcome of that contest.
Illinois Family Institute Urges Public Officials to Ensure Safety for Churches and Pregnancy Centers
- By Christian Newswire
MEDIA ADVISORY -- The Illinois Family Institute is issuing this public statement to urge Governor J.B. Pritzker and Attorney General Kwame Raoul to prepare to ensure the safety of churches and pro-life pregnancy care centers in Illinois.
David E. Smith, the executive director of the statewide pro-life, pro-family organization, notes that vandalism, arson, threats of violence, and interruption of church services have been escalating since the leak of Justice Samuel Alito's draft opinion on abortion.
"We cannot afford to ignore the threats of violence and harassment to achieve political ends," said Smith. "It is wise to anticipate more violent reactions from fringe pro-abortion activists if and when the U.S. Supreme Court hands down its decision in the Dobbs case."

Rash Optimism on Social Security's Solvency
- By Veronique de Rugy
Don't worry if you get confused reading accounts of the new Social Security Trustees Report. On one hand, you have some articles reporting that this document shows that Social Security will be insolvent in less than 15 years. Others prompt you to pop Champagne corks in celebration of Social Security's financial footing being so strong that we can supposedly increase benefits.
But, of course, both can't be true.
Being Gay Is Not Okay
- By Winston McCuen
The radical homosexual agenda now dominates our society and institutions, including most churches. The goal is to silence all criticism of homosexual perversion; with radical adherents doxing -- with intent to destroy – loving critics who would save them. These radicals have succeeded in de-sensitizing people to the obvious unnaturalness and pure filth of sodomite relations. So now, one man putting his penis in another man’s anus no longer elicits the vomitous and righteous disgust it should. Nor does women acting like men, or women committing unnatural acts with one another.

Fauci Kickbacks? Pandemic Exposed Big Pharma 'Capture' of Federal Agencies
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand
Every year, the National Institutes of Health awards $30 billion in taxpayer-funded grants, but federal scientists — including Dr. Anthony Fauci — have also received tens of thousands of royalty payments, often from the very companies petitioning for those grants. A handful of Republican senators have demanded federal bureaucrats answer concerns about this potential conflict of interest.
A Freedom of Information Act request by the federal government watchdog OpenTheBooks.com found 22,100 separate royalty payments totaling $134 million made to almost 1,700 NIH scientists between 2009 and 2014. As robust as that sounds, it’s only the tip of the iceberg. The NIH has yet to disclose another 1,800 pages of grants covering 2015 to 2020. Researchers estimate grants come to $350 million over 10 years.

Buffalo Pro-life Pregnancy Center, CompassCare, Firebombed
- By CompassCare
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Early yesterday morning police and fire responded to smoke at CompassCare, a pro-life medical office in Buffalo. The building was firebombed. The windows in the reception room and nurses' office were broken and fires lit. Graffiti on the building left by the arsonists refers to the abortion terrorist group Jane's Revenge reading, "Jane Was Here." The group took responsibility for a firebombing of a pro-life organization in Madison, WI in May. The organization vowed more of the same in other states as the Supreme Court Decision reversing Roe v. Wade nears and have been promoting to their communist followers what they have dubbed a "Night of Rage."

EASTON, Md. - A U.S. media ministry is providing a way for isolated Christians in the Middle East and North Africa to express their faith publicly – even as their religious freedom comes under increasing attack.
Globally, an estimated 80% of people of all faiths face some form of restrictions on freely expressing their religious beliefs. But Christians in the Middle East and North Africa, especially, face growing efforts to silence them.
Pressure is mounting on Christians across the largely arid region in countries like Iran, Algeria and Turkey, where churches are being closed, believers are being driven into hiding, and many face severe treatment if discovered.
Prosecutors Who Won't Enforce Abortion Law 'Have Violated Their Oath': State AG
- By Ben Johnson - The Washington Stand
Numerous prosecutors nationwide “have violated their oath” of office by promising not to enforce pro-life legal protections if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade, a state attorney general said on Monday.
With the future of abortion-on-demand hinging on an imminently anticipated Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a majority of states in the U.S. will likely enact laws punishing abortionists. Among them, 13 states have passed trigger laws designed to begin protecting unborn children the first moment justices legally allow it. Yet district attorneys in major metropolitan areas across the country, including liberal cities inside conservative states, have threatened to shield the abortion industry by refusing to enforce validly enacted, pro-life legislation.

Goofus and Gallant Go Woke
- By Michelle Malkin
Do you remember Highlights, the ubiquitous children's magazine that you'd devour at the dentist's office? If you were lucky, you'd wait for the mailman to deliver a fresh edition to your home at the beginning of every month. It was a treasure.
The venerable American publication was established in 1946 by an enterprising married couple devoted to improving elementary education. Highlights became a staple in generations of playful and curious youngsters' lives. Its slogan was "fun with a purpose." Long before the advent of toxic social media and Silicon Valley, way back before kids were obsessing over "likes" and "views" of self-indulgent selfies of themselves making Kardashian duck faces in their bathrooms and gyrating like Las Vegas pole-dancers in their bedrooms for TikTok, grade-school readers had healthy addictions to the wholesome trademark features of Highlights.
