Facing Racial Realities
- By Mike Scruggs
Measuring an American Dilemma
Charles Murray’s just published book, Facing Reality: Two Truths about Race in America, comes just as Neo-Marxist Critical Race Theory (CRT) doctrines have become major social justice engineering ideology and policy for the Biden Administration and Democrat Party leadership.
Murray is one of the most renowned and courageous political scientists in the U.S. and the world. He has a BA degree from Harvard and MS and PhD degrees from MIT. He is also the author of Losing Ground (1984), The Bell Curve (1994), and Coming Apart (2012), and Human Diversity (2020)
CRT is not a cure for racism; it is racism of the most vicious, hateful, and unforgiving kind—it is flagrantly anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-family, anti-capitalist, anti-history, and knows no truth or moral standard but power. CRT is an immediate threat to our military effectiveness and the integrity of our educational institutions. It is a protection racket that is corrupting American corporations and university administrations, and a divisive threat to public order and safety.

Few S.C. Bridges Fixed With Gas-Tax-Hike Money
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
Only three bridge projects have been completed in South Carolina with the nearly $2 billion in revenues collected under the 2017 state gas-tax-hike law, recently released transportation department records show.
And although the S.C. Department of Transportation has identified 465 out of 750 “structurally deficient” bridges statewide to be replaced, other agency records reviewed by The Nerve show that the vast majority of 66 “priority” projects in that category remain unfinished.
In passing the gas-tax-hike law, which raised the state gasoline tax by 12 cents per gallon over six years and increased other vehicle taxes and fees, lawmakers promised that the money would be used to fix the state’s crumbling roads and bridges. The latest 2-cent-per-gallon increase took effect July 1.
To Our Everlasting Shame
- By W.H. Lamb
(I’m indebted to the book, What If America Were a Christian Nation Again?, written by my hero of the Christian Faith, the late Rev. D. James Kennedy, with Jerry Newcombe, published in 2003 by Thomas Nelson Publishers in Nashville, Tennessee, for some of the inspiration for this article, and I quote somewhat freely from it. Most of the words are mine, some are from Dr. Kennedy. The original admonitions are from the One who made all things, including THE UNBORN CHILD in its mother’s womb, come to be, and is the One who looks at his created children, points His finger at them—at US—and says SHAME—SHAME ON YOU! I cringe even as I write this, for how long will THE CREATOR withhold His justice from America?)
Our Children Should Not Be Guinea Pigs In The Rush To Test New Vaccines!
- By Eagle Forum
Please sign this petition that will be sent to Senators and Representatives. Please note that the petition is not a statement of overall opposition to vaccinations or the COVID-19 vaccination. It is an expression of opposition to mandating what is still an experimental vaccine. We need our Congressional Representatives to protect our privacy and our freedom of health care choice.

He Said He Would “Bury Us!”
- By Barbara Powell
When thinking about the activities of our present Marxist-dominated federal government that, along with its allies in the U.N. and big media are trying to turn the U.S. into a socialist, collectivist tyranny run by them, I’m reminded of what Nikita Khrushchev said over 60 years ago. Do you remember his threats—his prognostications?
“Your children’s children will live under communism. You Americans are so gullible. No, you won’t accept communism outright; but we will keep feeding you small doses of socialism until you will finally wake up and find you already have Communism. We will not have to fight you. We will so weaken your economy, until you will fall like overripe fruit into our hands. The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who will not.”
All Hands on Tech!
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
"If they can censor me, they can censor you." That was former President Donald Trump's warning to America when he announced a blockbuster class-action lawsuit this week against the titans of Silicon Valley. Harnessing all of the outrage and grassroots anger over the treatment of conservatives these last several months, the 45th president is coming for the Big Tech Leftists at Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, with legal guns blazing. As far as he's concerned, they may be able to silence conservatives -- but they won't be able to stop them.
SALTY SEZ - Leviathan
- By Ray Simmons
Leviathan, that’s the name of a particular monster that appears in the biblical book of Job. Seems a bit appropriate these days, as I’ll point out later. Some fellow, wanting to add to the governmental power of our Republic, once said, ‘the American people will just have to assume that the state acts for the general welfare.’ I guess I kinda thought that way back in my younger years, although that isn’t the way the Founding Fathers saw things. It does look like most of the American people took that bait… and failed to see the hook attached. Some of them still don’t see the hook that’s pulling them downstream to muddy waters.
Heard a Preacher the other day saying a lot of things the most fellows have been told preachers shouldn’t talk about. They understand that preachers, the church, and government just don’t mix? Of course it’s okay for the government to tell the preachers what they can and can’t say, it’s just a one-way street. Most preachers I’ve heard seem to have accepted that position, but not the one I just heard. You might say he called a spade a spade and a lie a lie.

Some State Agency Heads Start New Fiscal Year With Big Pay Raises
- By Rick Brundrett - The Nerve
A legislatively controlled committee has given five-figure pay hikes to a group of state agency heads, and a new law empowers the panel to recommend raises next fiscal year for certain statewide elected officials.
The Agency Head Salary Commission (AHSC) on Thursday– the start of the new fiscal year – approved the following annual salaries for agency heads, with the amount and percentage of the raises in parentheses, according to commission and Department of Administration records:
- Christy Hall, Department of Transportation secretary: $298,000 ($46,768, 18.6%)
- Marcia Adams, Department of Administration executive director: $284,679 ($60,637, 27%)
- Nanette Edwards, Office of Regulatory Staff executive director: $265,000 ($86,381, 48.3%)
- Bryan Stirling, Department of Corrections director: $250,000 ($50,143, 25%)
- Grant Gillespie, State Fiscal Accountability Authority executive director: $245,000 ($44,438, 22.1%)
In addition, the commission set newly confirmed Commerce secretary Harry Lightsey’s annual salary at $252,000. His predecessor, Bobby Hitt, who retired, was making $199,857 as of April 9, according to an online database of state workers earning at least $50,000 yearly.
A Fight for the History Books
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
"We oppose attempts to ban critical race theory and/or The 1619 Project," the National Education Association (NEA) said in a resolution late last week. At its 2021 annual meeting, America's largest teachers' union -- and largest union of any kind -- passed a slew of pro-CRT resolutions. They also approved "an already-created, in-depth study that critiques white supremacy, anti-Blackness, anti-Indigeneity, racism, patriarchy ... capitalism ... and other forms of power and oppression." The resolutions amounted to a declaration of war on parent organizations that have sprouted up as sentinels against encroaching wokeness. The victor will determine the path of education for America's children and -- by extension -- our country's future. Finally, the battle lines are drawn clearly.

Is Afghanistan a Failed Mission?
- By Pat Buchanan
As in Vietnam from 1965 to 1973, the year our prisoners of war came home, America did not lose a major battle in Afghanistan.
Yet we did not win the war. South Vietnam was lost.
And contrary to the message awaiting President George W. Bush when he landed on the carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which was flaunting the banner "Mission Accomplished," America did not accomplish its mission.
President Joe Biden said as much Thursday, when he responded to a reporter's question, "The mission has not failed -- yet."
Supreme Court Issues Landmark Rulings for 2021 Spring Session
- By Eagle Forum
As people submitted their votes for Donald Trump in November 2016, many were still skeptical of his policies but were hopeful for at least one good Supreme Court Justice during his term. Not only did he exceed everyone’s expectations as President, but he and the Senate were also able to confirm a whopping three Justices to the highest court in the land. We saw the fruits of that labor over the last couple of months. While SCOTUS dealt a couple of losses to the conservative cause, they handed over quite a few wins as well. Here are some of those notable cases:
Who Are the Real Bullies on Race?
- By David Limbaugh
As absurd, extreme and reckless as the American left has been on race, and despite growing public disapproval of their antics, they are doubling down rather than pulling back.
On the Fourth of July, Utah's Black Lives Matter chapter described the American flag as "a symbol of hatred."
"When we Black Americans see this flag we know the person flying it is not safe to be around," it declared. "When we see this flag we know the person flying it is a racist. When we see this flag we know that the person flying it lives in a different America than we do. When we see this flag, we question your intelligence. We know to avoid you. It is a symbol of hatred."
January 6 is a Stalking Horse for Government Power Grabs
- By Laura Hollis
As the nation limps out of the COVID-19 pandemic, many Americans assume that we are also leaving behind the serious -- and in some cases, shocking -- power grabs that government leaders insisted were necessary to "defeat the virus."
The headlines suggest otherwise. A number of trends have emerged, the confluence of which should concern all Americans who love this country and value their freedom.
First and foremost is the obsession with characterizing the Jan. 6 riot in the Capitol as an "insurrection." Like so much else the American public has been told in recent years, this is a "narrative" -- wrapped in secrecy and sold with a heaping helping of propaganda, hyperbole and flat-out lies -- which falls apart as the truth slowly leaks out. While unruly and disruptive, Jan. 6 was no attempt to overthrow the federal government. Hundreds of protesters were let into the Capitol building by the U.S. Capitol Police; no one was carrying a firearm of any sort. USCP Officer Brian Sicknick was not killed by chemical spray or a blow to the head from a fire extinguisher, but died of a stroke. In fact, the only person killed on January 6 was Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed protester shot by a USCP officer who will not stand trial and whose name has never been released to the public. Perhaps most disturbing, Revolver News has raised pointed and unanswered questions about the FBI's possible role in January 6.

The Jan. 6 Video Cover-Up
- By Michelle Malkin
Hide and seek should be a game for children, not for ruthless feds. But here we are. An American citizen, innocent until proven guilty, is fighting for his freedom against a government juggernaut hell-bent on framing him as a violent Jan. 6 insurrectionist. One crucial key to clearing his name, his lawyer argues, lies in 30 seconds of a Capitol surveillance video that prosecutors don't want the public to see.
John Steven Anderson, 61, stands accused of "civil disorder," "assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers," "disruptive conduct" and other federal felonies related to his presence in a Capitol building tunnel where police officers pepper-sprayed pro-Trump marchers near the lower west terrace door. Anderson's lawyer, Marina Medvin, has battled Swamp attorneys who have designated video of Anderson struggling to breathe and seeking help from cops "highly sensitive" and subject to a restrictive protective order.
Squad Dems: A Fourth to Be Reckoned With
- By Tony Perkins - Family Research Council
Squad member Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) used the anniversary of America's Independence to parrot the 1619 Project's about continued racial oppression and fundamental injustice. She tweeted, "When they say that the 4th of July is about American freedom, remember this: the freedom they're referring to is for white people. This land is stolen land and Black people still aren't free." This is a textbook example of the 1619 Project's false narrative of American history. America elected a black president in 2008, vice president in 2020, and many members of Congress, including Cori Bush herself. "Black Lives Matter," an organization with nothing but its name to recommend it, raised $90 million in one year. Not to mention America's many popular and successful black athletes, musicians, entertainers, scholars, and entrepreneurs.
The Costs of Biden's Big Government
- By Star Parker
It is one of the unfortunate ironies coming out of the Biden administration that, with all the obsession about so-called equity, policies they are putting forth will only hurt the very low-income Americans they pretend to want to help.
The Biden administration is growing government at a record pace.
If what they want is opportunity for every American, government policy should aim to encourage economic growth. Bigger, more intrusive government achieves the opposite. It stifles economic growth.
The Biden administration submitted its first 10-year budget to Congress last month.
As America Recedes, China Rises
- By Pat Buchanan
As our July Fourth celebrations were beginning, the U.S. quietly closed and abandoned Bagram Air Base, the largest American military base between the Persian Gulf and the South China Sea.
Afghan looters were soon seen scavenging inside the base.
The long retreat of the American Empire is underway, and this longest war is likely to end in bloody retribution for the Afghans who sided with us against the Taliban and are left behind.

The Untold Story of Black Confederates
- By Mike Scruggs
Truth Suppressed Is Still the Truth
If you Google “Black Confederates,” you will know a lot about Google’s politics. It should also be obvious that there is a tremendous and undoubtedly well-funded effort to dismiss and ridicule the idea that anything more than a tiny minority of blacks would willingly resist and even take up arms against the Northern invasion of the South from 1861 to 1865. The most recent escalation of this demonization of the South and anyone connected to its resistance to Northern domination coincides with the emergence of Neo-Marxist Critical Race Theory (CRT) and woke identity politics, but it is also a continuation of propagandistic false historical narratives on the causes and conduct of the Civil War and postwar Reconstruction policies. This brand of identity politics garners votes by inciting racial tensions and promoting attitudes of militant hostility to win elections and advance political agendas. Suppression of important Civil War truths and the important role of Black Confederates in the war serve anti-American agendas.
