INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE VOICE OF
UPSTATE SOUTH CAROLINA

Very few parents would sell their children into slavery. Some would fight to the death before they would allow it to happen. However, those same parents could be deceived and tricked. They might accept slavery for their children if slavery was quietly and gradually renamed “progressive,” and if the parents were told by people they trust that this newly named program administered by a caring government would result in a superior education, sustainable health, economic prosperity, security and lasting happiness for their children and future generations.

Leading educators from some of the nation’s more prestigious universities are warning their fellow Americans about the dangers systematically inherent in the “national” Common Core Standards that are being promoted as “state” Common Core Standards. These educators have reached some alarming conclusions. One of the conclusions should anger every American and motivate them to action.

The United States of America, that once had the greatest education system in the world, offered unlimited opportunities for citizens and is being transformed into a two-tier society with a small elite ruling class and a large compliant working class. Common Core Education Standards are key to the success of this transformation.

Common Core is a political, not an education program.

Common Core is “School to Work” in a new package.

Common Core is weak academically and will make students less competitive and less qualified to enter top universities.

The claim that Common Core is more “rigorous” and emphasizes “critical thinking” is misleading. The definitions of those words have been changed.

Why did state boards of education and Governors approve Common Core?

They accepted Common Core sight unseen several years ago based on promises of financial grants and a threat that if they did not accept Common Core, they would not be competitive for the grants.

Why don’t more teachers and administrators publicly criticize Common Core?

Common Core includes a teacher and administrator evaluation program. They are evaluated on how well they implement Common Core.

Will private and home schooled students be impacted by Common Core?

Yes! SAT and college entrance exams will be testing Common Core materials. Teachers must teach to the test or students will not be able to score well on these tests.

Why are big business and chambers of commerce supporting Common Core?

Much of the seed money to bribe state officials came from big business interests, such as Bill Gates. They are interested in cheap, compliant labor with no qualifications or ability to compete for executive positions.

Will the children of political, education and business leaders pushing Common Core not be hurt by the program just as others?

No! Certain liberal elite schools will train the chosen leaders of tomorrow from the children of the ruling class. These schools are not required to implement Common Core. They will be teaching traditional courses including history, geography, classic literature, calculus, etc., as well as how to pass the tests. Public school students will be taught no math above basic algebra. Truth and logic will be eliminated.

New teachers coming out of teacher colleges have been indoctrinated with Common Core. Existing teachers are getting it during in-service training.

Many schools are building massive data files on students. By the time they finish high school, the database will tell anyone in the world everything there is to know about the student. Digital learning platforms are assisting to collect information on student attitudes, etc. The data will eventually be in the national labor database and used to select workers and manage the workforce.

There is a very narrow window of opportunity to stop this dangerous program. One year ago there was no knowledge or movement against Common Core. Now there are groups forming all over the country.

The only people that can stop it now are governors and members of the legislature. Parents are being advised to put pressure on governors and lawmakers to stop it now!
