Henry Timrod 654 is having an amazing year! Our Chapter President, Miss Charlotte Chumley, represented us at the Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia CofC Division Conventions.

We are happy to announce that she was elected SC Division CofC President and CofC Chaplain General.

We held a lemonade and bake sale to raise money for our Chapter projects. We also participated in a Confederate Iron Cross Dedication at Nazareth Presbyterian Church. We helped fund, place, and dedicate the Crosses.

Our Chapter accomplished a lot and won several awards at the Division and General levels over the summer.

We have accomplished several service projects! Our Chapter collected 40 bags of toys and clothes for Hurricane Helene victims in North Carolina. We collected snacks for three local fire departments and for the nurses in the Heart Unit at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. We filled five goody bags for three different Veterans.

In September, we held an Ice Cream Social with SC Division CofC President, Miss Charlotte Chumley for the CofC Division Board. We enjoyed the reading of a book written by the Chumley family about their ancestor, William Henry Davis. We also installed our new officers for the year and welcomed one new member.

Our October meeting was a “Catechism Carnival” where we answered Catechism questions, played games for prizes, and had cupcakes for dessert.

November gave us the opportunity to make ornaments for Veterans and discuss holiday celebrations in the 1800’s.

In December, We had our own float in the Reidville Christmas Parade in historic downtown Reidville, SC. Children from across the state enjoyed the ride and giving out candy along the parade route. Our Chapter also provided the music for the Ballenger SCV Camp Christmas Party.

Henry Timrod CofC loves to serve and learn about our history! We have a lot of fun and activities along with helping out our community.
