The Bob Jones University Bruins will host 10 schools for the 52nd annual High School Invitational Basketball Tournament Jan. 23-26 in the Davis Field House on the BJU campus.

The three-day tournament will feature teams from Bob Jones Academy (Greenville, South Carolina), Brooklane Baptist Academy (Hueytown, Alabama), Colonial Christian School (Indianapolis, Indiana), Grace Christian School (Huntingdon, West Virginia), Greenville Hurricanes (Greenville, South Carolina), Life Christian Academy (Kissimmee, Florida), Trinity Christian Academy (Deltona, Florida), Trinity Christian School (Greenville, North Carolina), Rock Springs Christian Academy (Milner, GA) and State Line Rush (Galax, Virginia).

“The BJU invitational high school basketball tournament provides an excellent opportunity for our players to expand their competitive experience,” said Dr. Keith Wiebe Jr., pastor of Grace Gospel Church in Huntingdon, West Virginia. “I have appreciated the quality of the tournament and the hospitality of the University during our previous visits. Our team is excited for the opportunity to return to the BJU tourney.”

In honor of longtime BJU coach Don Ward, the BJU Bruins will present the Don C. Ward Sportsmanship Award to two teams. Coach Ward served at the University for over 20 years. He was involved with planning and running invitational high school tournaments at BJU as well as teaching a course in Health Science and managing the intramural program. Coach Ward passed away in November 2016 after an 8-month battle with cancer.
