Army May Charge Bergdahl with Desertion
Information leaked to FOX News indicates that the United States Army will soon charge Bowe Bergdahl with desertion and send him before a General Courts Martial board. The soldier named Bowe Bergdahl allegedly laid down his weapon and walked away from his base and the men of his unit in Afghanistan on June 30, 2009. For approximately 5 years he lived with and allegedly helped the Taliban as they ambushed American troops.
Several American soldiers were killed and wounded while searching for Bergdahl. All who served with him stated later that they had no doubt that he was an Islamic sympathizer and that he intentionally deserted his post in combat, a treasonous act.

ACG Banquet Outlines Founders’ Plan to Save America
- By Josiah Magnuson
Americans for Constitutional Government, a civic organization active in the Greenville area since 1962, held their annual New Year’s Banquet on Saturday, January 17. The theme of the event was the exercise of virtue at the community level. Retired Greenville County sheriff’s deputy Hobart Lewis, ACG Director Josiah Magnuson, and Good Neighbors Project founder Patricia Wheat were the featured speakers.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance and Constitution Preamble, as well as rousing music from the Magnuson family “Truth Trio,” Dr. Nicky Chavers of the Taylors-based ministry The Academy of Arts started off the event with a devotional and invocation. Dr. Chavers gave a passionate call for Christians in America to take responsibility. He identified the problems in our country as originating not from Washington, DC, but from within our own hearts. Dr. Chavers challenged the church not to continue neglecting their role to define cultural boundaries, but to remember that “judgment must begin at the house of God” and uphold the “self-evident truths” that the country is built upon – in particular, our unalienable rights that no one may take away.

Liberal U.S. Policies Destroying Global Economy
- By Jeff West
A fiasco occurred last week in Switzerland which illustrates just how the reckless financial policies in Washington are destabilizing the entire global economy. At 9:30 a.m. Swiss time on January 15, the Swiss franc increased in value by 30% against the euro in just a few minutes, after the Swiss National Bank announced that they were ending their three-year policy of pegging the Swiss franc to the Euro at a 1.20 ratio. Presumably this is because the Euro has decided to engage in accelerated money printing to keep up with the amount of money America has been printing for years. Switzerland could not continue to control the value of their currency relative to the euro and was apparently forced into the decision.
This decision was not made lightly, as millions of dollars worth of financial positions were lost in minutes, and some exchange firms even went bankrupt. The strengthening of the Swiss franc will hurt their exports such as their famous watch making industry, but they essentially had no choice. Consequently, their decision is an ominous sign for the global financial situation.

Viguerie: GOP is a House Divided, Boehner Must Go to Unite GOP
- By Christian NewsWire
MANASSAS, Va. -- Christian Newswire -- Richard A. Viguerie, conservative direct marketing pioneer and author of "TAKEOVER, The 100-Year War for the Soul of the GOP and How Conservatives Can Finally Win It," states the following:
"Speaker of the House John Boehner epitomizes everything that is wrong with the principle-free Capitol Hill Republican leadership.
"The Bible and Lincoln tell us that a house divided cannot stand. During his tenure as Speaker, John Boehner has divided the Republican Party like it hasn't been divided since Progressives bolted the GOP over 100 years ago. The only thing that will reunite Republicans is new leadership on Capitol Hill.
