Scott Goldsmith and Dixie Republic hosted a get-together for friends of Tom Corbin and Joe Dill Saturday, October 23rd. Attendees were treated to Bluegrass music by the Mountain Creek Bluegrass Band, featuring Dennis and Polly Poole, Michael Elrod, Buzz Beilharz and Eddie Guthrie, not to mention a dancing spell by Country Hawkins of Little Texas. Guests were nourished on Dixie Republic Brunswick Stew made according to Scott’s secret Southern recipe.
Travelers on the interstate moving from north to south as cold weather approaches dropped in to see what was drawing the crowd. Once inside the building, they could not resist buying something from the widest variety of Southern merchandise on either side of the Mason Dixon Line.
