Bob Jones University 9/11 Flag Display - Tuesday, Sept. 7, 4-5 p.m.

Ahead of the 20th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, Bob Jones University students will set up a memorial display near the Wade Hampton Boulevard entrance to campus. Each flag will represent one of the 2,977 victims—from 115 countries—who perished in the 2001 terrorist attacks.
The students will begin assembling the display Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 4 p.m. and it will remain in place through the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 14.

Bob Jones University to Re-implement Indoor Masking

Bob Jones University President Steve Pettit announced today that BJU will re-implement masking in indoor public facilities for the next two weeks to assist in the mitigation of COVID-19.
“With the increase in the number of positive cases among our student body, it is necessary that we move to requiring masks as one of the steps to mitigate the COVID-19 virus,” said Pettit. “It is our intention to continue to provide as robust as possible an on-campus, in-person student experience and we believe the steps we are taking today are necessary to accomplish those goals and protect the health of our community.”

TN Elementary School Removes 'Under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- A Tennessee elementary school rewrites the pledge removing "one nation under God" in the morning announcements.
"We have been sounding the alert that red states are under attack from the progressive left, trying to erase God and rewrite history and every day we are seeing it in the classroom," said Karen England, Executive Director of Capitol Resource Institute, TN Chapter.
At Minglewood Elementary in the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, one teacher changed the line in the Pledge of Allegiance from "one nation under God" to "one nation undivided." This is a district with many military families serving Fort Campbell, KY.

BJU Seminary Partners with Steve Noble Show for "Theology Thursday"

BJU Seminary, Bob Jones University (BJU) School of Religion and Steve Noble, host of the nationally syndicated Steve Noble Show, announced today they will partner to present Theology Thursday with BJU Seminary beginning with the September 2 broadcast at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
Each Thursday, the program will be devoted to conversations with members of the faculty and leadership of the Seminary and the School of Religion to deliver next-level scholarship and teaching in a relatable way to help everyday Christians.
The premiere episode of Theology Thursday with BJU Seminary will feature Steve Pettit, president of BJU Seminary.
Pettit stated, “BJU Seminary’s and School of Religion’s partnership with the Steve Noble Show brings together champions of proclaiming God’s invincible and unchanging Word clearly and fearlessly. BJU Commemorates 20th Anniversary of 9/11

On the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Bob Jones University will commemorate the 2,977 lives lost on Sept.11, 2001, with a display of American flags at the front of campus
In addition, two beacon lights will represent the World Trade Center towers and in front of the beacons, a Wall of Remembrance will display the names of those who perished on that day.
“The 9/11 attacks forever changed our country and impacted a generation of Americans,” said BJU President Steve Pettit. “Most students in our incoming freshmen class weren’t born in 2001. It is important to use this milestone as a teachable moment. Seeing the thousands of flags at the entrance serves as a reminder to our student body, as well as the community, of the lives we lost that day and the triumph of the American spirit in the face of tragedy.”

GRAMMY award-winning conductor Richard Kaufman returns for the annual BJU Homecoming Concert to conduct the University Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in a wide-ranging program of music from the pen of Hollywood composer Lee Holdridge, including the world premiere of Fantasy Chorale: A Journey of Joy and Hope, commissioned especially for this performance.

Bob Jones University Starts 95th Academic Year

Bob Jones University kicks off its 95th academic year Monday, Aug. 23, during the annual opening exercises at 7 p.m. in Founder’s Memorial Amphitorium. The event will be webcast. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the University’s moving to Greenville from Cleveland, Tennessee.
Largely focused on celebrating the incoming Class of 2025, the opening exercises include practical advice and encouragement from the president, faculty members and student leaders.
“God graciously allowed us to navigate the various COVID-19 protocols and complete last year successfully in-person,” says BJU President Steve Pettit. “We look forward to our student body’s return and plan to offer a robust college experience including activities commemorating milestones in the University’s history.”
