Jackson Lee Tucker received the Julia Jackson OCR Youth of the Year Award for 2015. This award is named for the only child of Confederate General Stonewall Jackson and his wife Anna. The award was presented by Mosie Marlar, Chapter President of Varina Howell Davis Chapter 1, OCR, on behalf of the South Carolina Division of the Order of Confederate Rose, following the meeting of 16th Regiment, SC Volunteers, Camp 36 SCV, on Thursday, July 23, 2015, presented by Caroline S. Coleman 537, of which he is a member and chapter officer.

The award had been announced at the SC Division meeting of the state chapters of the OCR. The award was mailed to Mrs. Marlar, and she was able to keep it a secret from Jackson, who only learned of his being the recipient of the award at the time of its presentation. Jackson is being honored for his faithful service as Drummer Boy for the 16th SC Color Guard of Honor. He has served at SCV Camp Meetings, Memorial Services, the Lee-Jackson banquet, Memorial Marker Dedications, the Brigade Prayer Breakfast, and at the Memorial Marker Dedication for Real Daughter Mattie Clyburn Rice last October. In addition to serving as Drummer Boy at that service, he also had the privilege of aiding Sgt. Major Rossie Meadows in revealing the marker to the family of "Miss Mattie" to view for the first time. Jackson has served as Chapter Custodian for his CofC chapter for the past four years, and he served last year as SC Division Custodian. Jackson loves his Southern Heritage and honors his noble Confederate ancestors and all brave Confederate veterans.
