Seniors Commissioned as US Army Officers
Furman University can be justifiably proud of the Furman Paladin Battalion and one of the top Army ROTC programs in the nation.
The professional Army Cadre and instructors are led by LTC Brian Maddox. The Furman Ranger Challenge team finished 4th in the annual competition at Fort Jackson, competing against 17 teams from South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee. Furman performed well despite the tough competition.
This year, Furman moved under the 4th ROTC Brigade headquartered at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This new brigade has 40 schools from South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. Next year, the 4th Brigade will hold two Ranger Challenge events.
